Fellowes DM15C Shredder - Page 9 Questions & Answers
Fellows WM6X shredder. I took out the 6 screws but
There are 7 screws! It took me FOREVER to figure it out but on there is an additional screw that is underneath the white sticker. It says something like warranty will be voided if the sticker is removed but in order to do anything by yourself, you need to remove it!
Fellowes shredder only works in reverse
The unit sits on its own custom waist basket. In the unit is a micro switch that must be clicked by the seating of the unit on top of this waist basket. If the micro switch isn't activated, forward won't work. Check this. Short of this, the microprocessor that runs the diodes might not be working. (The diodes, one transmitter, one receiver, tell the machine the presence of a piece of paper in the slot.)
Only work on reverse
After seeing a suggestion for a similar post I got a can of compressed air from a computer store to clear the sensors in the paper feed. It needed a long blast but it started working again.
Tip. My instructions say, every 6 months, put a few drops of olive oil on a sheet and feed thru; try doing every couple of months to stop the sensors getting covered in dust
Fellowes ds16ci
Could have something in the blades that atomatically shut it down. Check for a reset button. Plug unit into different wall socket. Ensure power cable is attached securely to unit. Best I can offer w/o seeing it. GT
Db-0812d pcb mounted tranformer in my fellowes
Judging by the number of Google responses to DB-0812D it appears that this little transformer is mounted so that it hangs on its connectors = upside down from the intended mode and the slightest bump placing the power unit back on the collector bin can snap it off. Bad design on an otherwise good machine.Action 1. Bin it.Action 2A. Buy a different make [which may have other problems] - or...Action 2B. Buy another the same but use hot melt glue to ensure the DB-0815D will stay in place.
