Hi,
I've aquired a used
the first thing you should be checking are the leads
Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty
One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect your hard drive
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA
the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them there probably old and faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electic extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
hope this helps

Saund
if you mean SOUND problems
if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem
have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps

P4M9007MB-8RS2H mbd does not access
What kind of connection do you use for each one? SATA or IDE. Take a look at these photos.

They are from hard dsiks but the connectors are the same at the cd-dvd drives.

Can i put an amd atholn 64x2 prosser on this board
Hi dan058555
NO, AMD Athlon's are for AMD boards. You have an Intel board. If you want the best CPU try the Intel® Core™2 Quad. That will kick the socks off your grandma.
Good Luck,
Mark

Installed new motherboard, new ram and new PCU. i
did you reinstall windows? in XP as I remember 10 or less different device is possible to change, you motherboard will have almost 20 so it will cause windows not work. is there any sence that your computer is alive? maybe white letters in black background. If this then try reinstall windows and everything will be all right.

Windows98 loding problem
No, it's not supported, that chipset can't run a 16bit OS. If you want a simple and fast OS you should try Puppy Linux.

When i put it on,
Try this. Turn on the computer. While booting, enter the bios setup and check if your hard drive is detected by the motherboard. If not, turn off the computer and refresh the connections of the cable from hard drive to Motherboard (both ends) and power plug on the hard drive. Then turn on the computer again and check if the hard drive is detected. If detected, check the boot device priority. The OS hard drive should be on the first boot. Save your settings (press f10) and enter. Hope this helps.
