My tablet worked for a while, then it died.
you can probably buy a replacement usb cord/cable from wacom. not sure if it's pluged inside or soldered. if you need to solder it - any usb cable will do it... just find a tech savvy friend or technician to do it.

I would uninstall the drivers, reboot, and let your OS install the mouse. Then try to re-install the new drivers that were released by Wacom yesterday available at the link I provided. (You probably got them there, I don't know)
If it goes 'wonky' again, uninstall the new drivers and use the older ones provided on the website or just let you OS install if it will.
