ASUS P5VD2-X Motherboard Questions & Answers
How to boot from cd on asus p5vd ?
To boot from cd you have to make sure that 1 - the disk is bootable and 2 - you must make sure that your CMOS is set to boot from the cd rom first before anything else.
If your cmos is not responsive to the changes that you want when you click on exit and save it is either because you are attempting to change something that is not changeable or the cmos is corrupt and not working properly.

These are the specs, but I don't see 64 Bits support. Hence it must be running 32 bit and Windows 32 Bit has a 3GB limitation. Furthermore, even if it did recognize it. Your applications must be written to utilize more RAM. For instance I have 16GB and never seen the usage go more 3GB.

Hi, I need help, my pc freezes and I cant move the mouse or do anything else, I have to restart it. Please Help me.
Start/Run... Run msconfig. On General tab, select Diagnostic Startup. Reboot. Use the computer in this state for as long as the freeze usually appears. If no freeze, return to msconfig General tab. Selective startup, uncheck Startup.Repeat reboot and trial usage. If no freeze, check normal startup. On startup tab uncheck everything that looks non-essential. Reboot and retest. When the computer seems "fixed" recheck one startup item at a time. Repeat your timed test until the issue reappears. When it does, the latest startup item you enabled is the cause.

Hello,
If there is no display, then follow this steps to troubleshoot it,
As it been displaying before and suddenly stops displaying, if your answer is yes then start with
1 check whether there is power to the board i.e power gets to the motherboard
2 Check the cmos battery, whether it is still ok, you can find the cmos battery on the motherboard
3 Check the RAM or memory whether it is firmly connected to its slot and working good
4Check whether your VGA chip on the motherboard is good if not you have to get an external VGA card and plug it on one of the slot either PCI or AGP slot.
5Check the data cable to the monitor, if it is still good,by removing it and testing it a good one.
6Check if the problem is not with your monitor either CRT or LCD by testing with a good one.
If the motherboard is a new one and is not displaying , i would recommend you return it and collec a new one
regards
