How to recover deleted or lost files

Most people may be experienced that a daft error on the program suddenly wiped out all of their work.Is there any way to retrieve files that might be lurking on the hard disk?
I think incidents like this teach us how important making multiple periodic backups can be.
Here are some advice for you:
  1. Do not panic
  2. Turn off the power
  3. Do not restart the machine
  4. Connect the hard disk to another PC as a slave disk
  5. Don't run or write any software on the drive.
  6. Start the File Undelete to scan the correct drive

File Undelete can recover all file types, support for over 350 specific file types including document files, Photo, audio files, video files, digital media files, and more!

are you using a power source for the unit, it has to have its own power supply to work. if you have the cable connected for the power and the usb connected to the laptop/pc, go to the windows log and right click on the logo, a menu will pop up. click on device manager on the device manager settings you should see your drive probably with an x on it, click on the drive and go to the update drivers and make sure you're on the internet. and click update drivers, if there is a driver that windows can use it will install the driver if not, then windows will not load a driver. if still not working try this web site Solvusoft Microsoft Gold Certified Company and download the drivers from them. if this still does not work then replace the usb cable as it may be faulty.

the file you need is called takeownership you have to google for it as it's in one of the forums the file is in the form of a zip file and when extracted you select the takeownership and install a little code into your reg and when you select a folder right mouse button on it and select takeownership this willl get rid of access denied garbage and give you full control over the folder and you do the same on any hard drive.

hope this will solve problems of access denied

Typically back-up files made by back-up programs are encoded, and depending on which back-up software this may or may or may not allow you to access the backed-up files individually. How you access your backed up files will also depend on the back-up software you use.

For HP's back-up utility, "to recover a deleted file, simply use the Restore Wizard" - be careful not to recover the file on top of the current version of that file though.
see also the instructions (manual) for this utility

This procedure should work for any back-up software.Copy your back-up. Restore your back-up to a new location. Access the files you want from the restored back-up. Now you have access to the files in the back-up as they were when they were made, while still retaining your back-up and your current files. Be careful not to confuse 'old' for 'new' and 'copy' for 'original'.
