I would suggest that you try "reinstalling" the card by opening device
manager, to do that right click on my computer or computer which you
will find either on your desktop or in the start menu, select manage.
on
the left side of the management window you will find Device manager.
then on the right side look for the sound devices, find the sound
device from there and right click uninstall, then right click anywhere
and scan for hardware changes, that will reinstall the card.
If
that doesn't solve the problem then you would need to reinstall the
drivers, first uninstall the card, remove any software related to it
and then download it from the ibm site

done restart the machine and everything should be back to normal.
