How can i make my seagate hard disk an usb hard

It is quite easy, do not worry.
You only need to bought and USB enclosure, here is a link to many products on ebay
http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=p0.m37.l1313&satitle=hard+drive+enclosure+usb&category0=

then you have to connect your hard drive inside the enclosure and the enclosure to your computer using the usb cable and that's it.
Just be carefull about the enclosure, I guess it is a Hard drive from a desktop, is in it? because some enclosure are for laptop's hard drive.
Also you need to know if your hard drive is SATA or IDE, IDE is the normal gray bus cable with fourty some pins, and the SATA it is a really small cable (I do not use technicims to not confuse you even more).

Also, there are some adapters from IDE/SATA to USB that you can buy in your local computer store (do not go to bestbuy, compusa, ... they only sell external hd), or also get it from ebay.
The only diference between the enclosure and the adapter is that the enclosure looks better :D, and the adapter is just a bunch of cables.

Bootmgr is mising/cant install win 7 on seagate HDD configuration problem

There are a number of possible causes for BOOTMGR errors, including the most common "BOOTMGR is missing" error message. The most common reasons for BOOTMGR errors include corrupt and misconfigured files, hard drive and operating system upgrade issues, corrupt hard drive sectors an outdated BIOS and damaged or loose IDE cablesAnothe reason you might see BOOTMGR errors is if your PC is trying to boott from a hard drive or flash drive that is not properly configured to be booted from. In other words, it's trying to boot from a non-bootable source. This also would apply to media on an optical drive or floppy drive that you're trying to boot from.

make sure there are no disks in cd floppy usb drives

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty computers need data and power to travel through every working device and to continue its cycle and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error also make sure you have set it boot from you hard drive in BIOS hope this helps

Has died. Making this horrid

With luck your PC could still be in warranty, if so go back to the vendor.

If not, its a case of buying and installing a new HDD. You'll also need to re-install an operating system.

If you don't have one on disk, try downloading and installing Ubuntu, its free also got free office software and loads of other applications.

Hi. my computer crashed a

Well the drives are set to raid 0, if you're seeing 640GB. This implies that data will be stored on the first one till it's full and then move on to the next. If you have less than 320GB of data and you've lost drive 'A', then the chances of retrieving the data are slim. Your only options are then to try some recovery software or head off to a recovery company. Try running a diagnostic software on the drives individually to determine which drive is faulty.

My Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320 GB SATA Hard

Hard drives are only designed to last 3 to 5 years. Most hard drive manufacturers only warranty them for 1 year.
For whatever reason yours has died.

Backing up your data is imperative.

If you need to recover data from this hard drive, there are places online that you can send the drive to and they can recover the data on your hard drive. This can cost you a bundle though. If the data is not necessary, all you can do is buy a new one and reinstall your operating system.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 show 0MB issue

I would first look for a bios update for your motherboard to see if that helps at all.

If your bios did not fully support 1TB and special installation software was used to make it work by a method that uses overlay that would cause it to run slowly

To make it run faster I would have set up a primary partion of around 100GB and installed to that and left the rest of the drive formatted for general storage.

You may still want to look at that as an option.

If not and you did use any overlay software you are going to be restricted to slow speeds try putting it in another computer and transfer anything you want from it that way. when you are done you can actually delete the partitions etc using the other computer to do so.

You could also set it up on there ready to try re-install windows XP

Or it could just be that you have a nasty and I would certainly try get data off and re-format whilst you are at it if you have

When I boot up i am prompted to press cntl e or f4

Some older mainboards only allow you to use SATA after you have declared your disk through the raid utility. Watch out when you do so that you select the right configuration (Raid 0)
