Just fixed mine, when plugged in red light comes and goes, sometimes it ststays on but when I turn it on the green light comes on then off. Opened up tv, there is a heat shield of some sort, take off, there is a board where plug goes into the wall,it also has three more plugs plus a ground that is screwed to the tv.I looked at the board and there were two capacitors that were bulged and had brown stuff about to come out the top. They were 1500uf 16v 105c, I changed them only I made them 25v instead of 16. And boom life was good. Good luck and sorry for my spelling.
Does not power on
If total dead look for the fuse at the inside where the power cord goes. Some general info: I see so many here with no sound/no picture issues: ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good. 2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signs of damage you can see---burnt parts etc. 3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves
checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down the problem. 4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set. Answers to issues: 1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the generic ones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don't put a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason. 2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses a standby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined and some not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on the power/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--I attach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flat and have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating (saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs 7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail. 3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not. 4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over. If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in this photo.
Turned it off on the set...can't turn it back
The electrolytic capacitors in the power supply become damaged by heat. The top of the caps will swell up lookinglike a bubble instead of being flat they will needreplacement.the caps should be replaced with high temp caps. This is a commen problem with these sets

I have a flat screen
It all depends on how your dish cable is connected to your television. The possibilities I can think of would be by composite cables (not HD)--these cables are the yellow red and white combo. It could also be component--the video cables are the blue, green and red. The other possibility is a single HDMI cable which looks like a rectangle and delivers both the video and the sound from the cable source to the T.V. as one cord. Depending on which of these you are using to output the signal from the cable box to the T.V. will determine which "source" you should select when trying to watch tv. Hope this helps!

Using a different AC cord did not hurt your TV. Something more than likely happened internally during your move.
