I read that there were two solutions people had used. The first was banging it on the table. I tried this twice, not too hard, but it didn't work. I dropped it on the carpet from about two feet, but that didn't work either. I was afraid to knock it around any harder than that. Then I read the second solution, which was to hold the lens and turn the camera off. I did this two or three times and it started working again. It's still working as of the next day.

You need to configure the option of printer for stamp Date/Time.
OTher way is to manually stamp Date/time on individual image by using Software that came with Camera

Before anything else.... you must examine first if your card is not damage, How? Try to test it in the memory card readers or other camera that fit the same memory cards. 
Some other cards do have lock option in the jacket of the card. Try to unlock it. After doing so reformat the memory card in to your cam.

Other option...... Some other cam do have internal memory, if you have the same, configured it out.

Try this........

1. Turn OFF cam
2. Remove the battery or the power supply
3. Turn the switch to CAMERA for about 30 sec
4. Turn the switch to OFF
5. Install the battery or power supply
6. Turn the switch to MEMORY
7. Open the LCD cover and press the RESET button ( small inner button )
8. You will be prompt to adjust date/time. Do it
9. Take some pictures

Please spacify where you are not getting sound? in TV, in PC or in camera?

ok guys, I was getting the same "Access" black screen on my dcsn2. I would turn it on and the lens would pop in and out I would get the black screen with the "Access" on it. What worked for me was the following:

As the lens came out i grabbed and pulled while it was fully extended

The "Access" screen disappeared and my camera was back to normal.

on pressing the menu button the options screen will appear..
on pressing it again it ll disappear

No live view or black pictures, but readable menus means a bad CCD or less likely, possible shutter on cameras equipped with one (more scarce on newer digitals)

Can you see Shadow images[ indicating back light failure]
or Nothing at all[ Indication main circuit board or connector problem

If you are still in warranty then send it back to seller.

You could try gently squeezing the case below the screen to see if there is a chance of a re connection.
Also check out Sony support in case there is an issue with that model
Failing that it is a repair job
Prbably nearly as expensive as simply junking it and start over

Its possible the button board under the rear case has been shifted or is malfunctioning. You can try to remove the back case and see if you can realign, or reset your camera's button board. If this doesn't work, there are several online companies that can help -

Check the charger and it's cable and confirm it is providing power for charging ? Make sure the connectors are clean and dust / rust free. For further help, see trouble shooting section of user manual Help Guide ' Top (sony.com)
