It is a LCD set and if sound get it in a very dark room and with a flashlight and the set on look to see if you see a very faint image on the screen.Almost all these sets use a back light system for brightness---an inverter of some type to power the lights---either the back light is bad or the voltage for it is not present or being turned on.

It sounds like a shotgun estimate to me--those are Sony part numbers for circuit boards--Google each number to see if available. Also Google the model number with "parts".I have heard this song before--some shops only want to collect some money and are not interested in fixing the set.A way out for them is to say part not available---If they only looked at the set in your home that is not good enough--a complete exam would require it being in a shop with the proper test equipment to really see if 2 boards need to be replaced--also in a shop they might be able to find something that cannot be found in the home.Keep in mind (our shop) that the techs in the shop (the top ones) rarely go to the home---you usually get a less experienced tech there.Do some research and if find the boards are available point that out to the shop you had out and let Sony know about this.

Hi: Check you screens format button to change screen sizes, this button may also be labeled Aspect. Seems you are in ZOOM Mode, these buttons can also be found on cable boxes remote as well try pushing them to see if screen size change. If this does'nt help then do this with the TV in off posistion. Press the Display key on your remote, Then the Five key, then the Vol up key, then press power key. This will turn set on in service mode, you will see service options do not do anything but press the number 8 on remote and hit enter. This will rest tv to factory settings. All video setups and parameters you have set in user menu will result back to factory and will need to be redone. TV should shut down on its own and come back on on channel 3.

Magnetic fields don't affect lcd screens, unlike crt tvs where a magnet can cause problems. If it is only a slight difference i have seen this before even on my tv. if you go to a blank screen you can see patches of light and dark, they call this bruising, i have talked to sony engineers about this but i have not got a straight answer as to what makes this happen, if the tv is in warranty a tech will replace the panel, if it is not in warranty it is not cost effective to replace. But the good news is that is does not seem to get any worse with time, it is more of a manufacturing defect that most will not notice. Look at the tv with dark blank screen and you may see areas where the screen is lighter than the other. If you see this than you have this issue. it will fade off and will not be a stark line. Also I noticed that there is a software update for your television go to www.sony.com to get a download of the software, or sony will send it to you free of charge.

You can unplug it for a while, but probably worn out and cheaper to buy new at walmart.

Hi Sherry, you can test your remote control to see if all the keys work correctly Take your cell phone, put in camera mode and point the emitting LED of the remote control towards the camera, press the keys, one at a time and see if the emitting LED is illuminated, if so, try the volume up key, if the light does not turn on, you could carefully disassemble the remote control and clean the contacts and the keyboard internally rubber, Do not use alcohol to clean the rubber keyboard, you can clean it with warm water and detergent then let it dry very well, the contact plate, you can use a cloth with some liquid to clean the glass, the idea is to remove the rubber residue on the contacts then arm again and test, but you have results consult a specialized technical service I hope you find the suggestion useful Greetings Franco Dosil Hola Sherry, puedes probar tu control remoto para saber si todas la teclas funcionan correctamente Toma tu celular, pon en modo camara y apunta el Led emisor del control remoto hacia la camara, presiona las teclas, una por vez y fijate si se ilumina el Led emisor, si es asi, prueba la tecla de subir el volumen, si no se prende la luz, podrias desarmar con cuidado el control remoto y limpiar internamente los contacto y el teclado de goma, No Uses Alcohol para limpiar el teclado de goma, lo puedes limpiar con agua tibia y detergente luego dejalo secar muy bien, la placa de los contactos, puedes usar un pa?o con un poco de liquido para limpiar los vidrios, la idea es sacar el residuo de goma que hay sobre los contactos luego arma nuevamente y prueba, sino tienes resultados consulta a un servicio tecnico especializado Espero te resulte util la sugerencia Saludos Franco Dosil

Aron, To perform a reset you will need to disconnect the TV completely from power for at least 30 seconds, if this doesn't resolve your problem then you may have hardware that has expired in your device. Without physically looking at your device I can't say with certainty what your problem is, it could be your PCB. There are video's online you can visit on how to test a PCB for faults. If you are not comfortable troubleshooting your device I would suggest contacting a local electronic repair shop near you, however I will link you to a generic instructional video showing you how to perform basic troubleshooting of your device. Hope this helps, Best regards https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxG3hmmvkJs Testing LCD TV Power Supply BoardsSTEP BY STEP fixya-aioep5zungdwqwtpjd23ghga-3-0_0.png

Although I am just guessing, most Sony equipment uses metric screws. Go to a Home Depot or similar store and take the piece that you have that contains the threaded fittings and they will help you find the screws you need. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/793567/Sony-Kdl-32xbr6.html?page=7#manual This page of the manual gives some info about the screws such as not longer than 1/2" (or 12mm) to prevent damage to the set. Sony customer service may be able to supply replacement screws too.
