Error message, cartridge error "cartridge

I'm not sure what ou mean by fairly new. Is it a color cartridge and have you been printing photographs? Is it an HP cartridge or a generic brand? Cartridges are used up very fast if you are printing photos. I print a lot of photos and have found that although they cost more, the cartridges made for each particular printer usually last longer and do a better job. Are the cartridge lights blinking, as they do when yo have low ink?

It could also be a problem with the cartridge. Try removing the cartridge and very carefully use a damp paper towel to gently clean the printer head of the cartridge. Do you get any ink when you do this? If you do, try putting the cartridge carefully back into place. Check the socket where the cartridge goes when you do this. Does everything seem to be in order?

Do a power reset (turn the printer off with the off button, unplug it for a full minute, then plug it back into the wall socket.) turn the printer back on. If you still have the message,
go to this site http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=1119598&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us&submit=Go%20â

You will find a video here for your printer as well as frequently asked questions, a manual download, etc.

Good luck to you.

My HP 5610xi is giving

It is hardware problem show it service center.just try with this thing but i m sure it is hardware problem,

Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. If the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.

If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:

1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.

2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.

3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact the Customer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide.

Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced.

Hope this helps. Please rate my response.Thanks.Have a good day

I have HP Officejet 6310

hello, some of the time the color ink cartridge can cause the problem, especially if its a refilled ink, but at same time, i do know some of the new inks right out of the box will fail. so try with a new color cartridge first.

The hinge on the cover cracked. Can this be

I used an offset cabinet hinge & screwed it into the body of the printer, & the cover. The offset has to be jiggled a bit to open, but works fine on closing.
Otherwise, HP wants you to buy a complete new scanner cover.

Cartridge error

It can be imperfect contacts, get out the cartridges, and put them back firmly few times. It may help. If not, maybe the contact are dirty or oxidized. Use some fine glass-paper to clean them, the ones on printer since the cartridges are new. If you do not have glass-paper you can carefully try do do the job with the tip of a small flat screwdriver or cutter. It worked for me. Hope it is the same simple problem at you. Did you tried it with other computer? To be sure that there is not a software problem, like the line for printing tasks.

Envelopes won't feed into my hp 6310 all in one.

Hello db,
Try this...Place the envelope to the right side of the feeder. Position the envelope with the flap facing up and to the left. I use Microsoft Office Word software for feeding and printing envelopes with good results. You can also go to the HP website and download their envelope printing software for free.
Hope this is helpful for you. If it is, please leave positive feedback for me. Good luck! NormanZ
