Sony Handycam DCR-DVD108 DVD Camcorder - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Why are the photos taken
This camera has a resolution of 640x480 pixels. This is less than most modern cellphones and the images are not suited for enlargement. If you want higher quality in photos, look for a digital still camera.
How do I fix E:61:00?
That is a lens error. Unfortunately, there is not a whole lot that you can personally do to fix this. If there is a reset button on the camcorder, you might try it. Otherwise, you will need to have your camcorder repaired by an experienced technician.
Hope this has helped.

My Sony Handycam keeps showing
Hi,
OK just spent few minutes with Sony and there is no menu item that would disable the recording capability.what i need you to do is to open your LCD and there will be a button you might have to use a small pen but press it this will reset all functions to factory.if this doesn't resolve it then it will need to be serviced.according to Sony this is an issue with the writing portion of the DVD recorder.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
Can get camera off movie
My experiece is that the discs are defective but more than likely its the dvd drive assy has failed. I hope this helps.
Problem with touch screen
Try pressing the Reset button on the Camcorder. If the issue persists, try power resetting. To power reset, remove the battery of the Camcorder and press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and reinsert the battery after one minute and check the operation. If the issue still persists, the service is required.
I get a message on the screen that says,
This message appears when mini dvd disc got some error in recording tracks, if its rewritable mini disc then format it as option is available in camera settings menu and if disc is once writable then use another disc as it can not be formatted.
Caution: Format will erase/ delete all files on dvd disc and refresh the dvd disc.
After recording the disc won't fianlize camera
No not another, sorry my friend but this was one, yes just one reason why DVD cameras are no longer built, everyone has had major problems, and Sony dropped this media as it simply never was reliable, grab a Hi 8 digital camera (TAPE) it is the only safe way to record movies today.
