Want to download pics from
The easiest way would be to connect the camera to the computer via USB once you have it connected you should be able to view all the photo's on the camera's memory. From there you should be able to drag and drop the photos to where ever you'd like to put them on your computer.
When trying to take picture....screen looks
This is likely a problem with some settings with your camera, or some damage to your lens. I personally haven;t used one of these camera's but if you can check the settings look for things like color, hue, tint, etc. If it is not a settings issue, you may want to consider having an electronics store take a look at it to check the lens for damage.
When I try to take a picture, I get vertical lines
Hi,
When you download the pictures to your computer are the lines still on the picture or only on the camera itself? If the lines stay with the pictures even on the computer this means the imaging sensor is failing/defective. If the camera isn't under warranty then your best bet is to just replace it. It looks like this is a 4 year old camera and prices have come down considerably in that time while the megapixels/quality has gone up. If you have any other questions please let me know.
Thank you,

Your memory card is either write protected or corrupted.
- If it's write protected, it can be very easily fixed.
- Turn off cam.
- Take out the mem. card. (it's probably located near the battery. press down on it and release it. Then it will pop out.)
- Slide the small switch on the side of the card to the position marked with an unlocked padlock.
- Put card back in and turn on cam.
- If that doesn't seem to be the problem, then it's likely that the memory card is corrupted. This is common with Flash memory that has been used extensively for a long time and this problem is likely not caused by any fault in the camera. You might not be able to access any pictures that were stored on your cam, but you can try using a data recovery software like Recuva if you want to recover pictures ( click name to download ). If you want to use the card again, You can try formatting it (differs from cam to cam, check instructions manual for specific instructions) If this doesn't work, You will have to buy a new card. Make sure you buy a good brand like Lexar or SanDisk.
That's it. hope that helped.

Are you try with the Panasonic software? Also could try with Picasa 3; nice viewer & will download from a wide range of cameras.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Is the LCD cracked anywhere?. If you send it to Panasonic, they will charge about $200 and not repair it. Instead, they will send you a refurbished replacement which may not be the same model as yours and gave someone else problems (which could still crop up at a later date.)...Your call.
If the screen is indeed cracked, you can Google "how to replace the screen on a Lumix DMC-TZ3" and you will find instructions and places you can purchase a new screen for under $50.

All the pictures are blurry
You may have put the camera on manual focus. Two ways to do that.
1. There is a switch on the lens which allows you to select auto or
manual focus. Be sure the switch is set on A or A/M. If it's on M, you
are on manual focus.
2. In you menus, there might be a mode which is manual focus. Look in
your manual index under Focus, manual. There might be a setting in the
Focus Mode menu.
You can also try resetting your camera. This will put most things back to factory default mode, including the focus mode.
When playing around with controls, go step by step through the manual
and try things out. Be sure to set the control you were playing with
back to default unless you really understand that setting.

Lcd screen is completely black
i think this is generally the symptom when there is a problem with either the CMOS or the CMOS circuit not able to collect the image, if its worth it you might want to change it but normally it would cost almost as much as the camera
hope could be of help
Hey... when i shut down
The warning sign can be from another reason ..one of setting ..and not necessary to need an update of the firmware ..I would first try to load the factory settings from the menu ...and see if the warning is still on ..Usually a large number of people complain about bigger problems after updating devices...and I would think twice before doing it ..specially if the warning is not interfering with the functionality ...
But if you want to do it ..the 1.09 is the newer one ...
Have a nice day !..

Purchased in 2007,
Most likely this is either an issue with a custom white balance, color tone, or the image sensor is starting to go.
Set the white balance to AWB (menu -> W.Balance).
Try to adjust the color (usually has options like sepia, cyan, black and white normal, etc).
If these fail a lot of cameras have a reset to factory settings.
If none of these suggestions work, its probably the image sensor.
Please leave feedback if this was helpful. Thanks!
