Hmmm it sounds to me like your focus.distance & ranging electronics have somehow gone faulty... that or the Focus Drive, has faulted or both, it is real hard to tell without actually examining the unit.
In any event, it is NOT a setting nor software, it is indeed a fault within the unit, i have seen similar ones before.
You will have to take this camera in for repair, as special tools and software are required to service and repair this unit.
You need to contact a local or head office of JVC, and ask them for a referral to an local to you, Authorised servicing center. Now when you take your unit in for repair. Ask them first for a "Quote" for the repair. That way you can decide as to repair or replace, as this may be an underling symptom of a much greater problem, although i think, that it will be a simple repair, one can never tell until it is on the operating table so to speak. However in this instance i cannot see the repair being all that expensive, as it;s a fairly simple job to replace the faulty bits.

I suspect the slide switch fail. You can clean it with contact clean if not replaced. Must be open inside to access switch for cleaning.Good luck!

OK, you did not use it for last 6-8 months, let me know what is the problem with this camcorder.

Took me a lot of cursing, and it's very simple. On your camera's screen there are 2 options saying "USB Connect". Only when you look really closely do you see that the 1st one is for the hard disk and the second is for a memory card. I expect you are using the wrong one..I was!

I have the same issue. Did you ever get this problem resolved? How?

JVC Everio... | Answered on Jun 21, 2010

As you don't have cords (Usb Cable) that connect to camera and PC.It is better to transfer your data (Movie) to your PC for safe backup, For that you can use SD Card reader to store movie onto your PC, you just need to insert your SD Card into your SD Card Reader and then connect to your PC directly.
Visit this link to buy SD Card Reader.

Well the blurry is caused by poor focus. Try not to zoom too much. Better to get closer to the subject if possible. Study your manual and adjust your diopter which loosely means adjust the viewfinder in and out whilst looking at a subject without using any zoom until the picture is clear. Then take you'll find it easier to focus when you do actually zoom. Sometimes there's a small sliding piece of plastic sticking out of the side of the lens. Otherwise it's a matter of turning the eyepiece to get the clarity. That's why I said check the manual. That will explain which method to use.

The yellowish colour is unusual. I would say check you have the White balance switch set to auto but lack of white balance is not usually a yellow picture. But check the white balance switch anyway and make sure it's in auto mode.

Ordinary light bulbs or some street lighting can give a yellow caste so check you have the inside outside button switched to the correct position, depending on where you are at the time of shooting.

Did you buy the camera used or new. Often people who have faulty cameras will sell them off cheap and run. Leaving the owner with the problems.

So to sum up. get closer to your subject rather than use zoom if you can. If you use a lot of zoom either use a tripod or place the camera on a firm surface or even hold the camera whilst you stop yourself from moving by leaning against a wall or tree etc.

Next remeber where you are and switch the indoor/outdoor switch accordingly

there was another post about this on here that said they used one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/Easycap-USB-2-0-Video-TV-DVD-VHS-Audio-Capture-Adapter_W0QQitemZ170435042087QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item27aeb85b27 i think. not sure if they actually used it as a webcam or not. on ebay you can search for usb video adapter, there are more than this one. here is the manual to your camera if you need it. its a 20mb pdf so i takes a while to load. http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/91/LYT1668-001C.pdf

Con Windows Vista, puedes usar Windows Movie Maker (no estoy seguro si se llama lo mismo en español) que viene con Windows!

Mira este tutorial (en inglés...) por las instrucciones.

Buena suerte y saludos desde Israel,
