How To Replace Cartridge(s)

1. Lower the Canon PIXMA MP530 printers front cover and output tray. You should also lower its paper output cover to open.
2. Then, wait for the head cover to open. ...
3. Push down the empty cartridges lock lever. ...
4. Slide the new cartridge to its correct slot.

Hi. That happens sometimes with generic cartridge. It seem that print head is defective.

Check the Lan/Wlan settings on the printer. Set to DHCP for address and reboot the printer. This should ensure the machine is getting it's IP address from your router. Recheck the IP address and subnet mask are in the same range as your computer and router and try a test print. If that does not work - manually set an address in the printer with a terminal value of 50 eg 192.168.0.50. Try that. If still no good, reset the printer IP to DHCP automatic and reboot the entire system. Please note if you are using Apple/Mac portable computers - your IP address range may change every time you boot in a different location.

There might be a problem on the power supply of the printer.

The print head is what's connected to the drive belt. It requires a lot of printer disassembly to get to. Check you tube for a video in how to change it.

Underneath the printer there is a removable power supply in a relatively small box - it has a fuse :)

Please follow the steps below: 1- Remove ALL the ink cartridges from the printer 2- Check that there is no residual tape on the cartridges. 3- Then clean the contacts (the hole where the ink comes out) on the cartridges as well as inside the printer itself (you may want to use gloves here) NOTE: Clean the contacts with a small amount of warm water on a cotton swab until no ink comes off on the swab. 4- If any of the other cartridges are low, empty, leaking or bulging, replace them with genuine and original ones. 5- Then turn off the machine and unplug it for 60 seconds 6- Insert the cartridges and check to see if the issue persists.

Hello, my name is Steve. And what you are experiencing is a "false paper jam". This is when the pickup roller or Paper feed tire is attempting to pick a sheet of paper from the tray and it cannot. The feed tires of paper pick up rollers are glazed (dirty). So the tire/roller is sliding on the surface of the paper, much like a bald tire will not have good traction on a wet road's surface. It is time for a cleaning of the surface of this part.. Based on a person's ability to attempt this type of cleaning, precautions need to be understood. I know this sounds rather patronising but are you sure you have removed the tape on the black in cartridge before you fitted a new one. You would be amazed how many people forget to do it.

The error code you are showing does not relate to this model. There are no 8 digit error codes for the MP530. However all is not lost. Look at the orange alarm and green copy buttons. They will be flashing in a sequence , ie orange may flash twice then green once and so on, then they will stop and the cycle recommence. Make a note of them and repost. I will try and help more.
