X2Gen MG19MY 19" LCD Monitor - Page 6 Questions & Answers
Monitor is to bright
Your monitor has brightness and contrast controls either on the bottom or the right side. Sometimes you have to push the menu button and then scroll to the proper setting. If this is the case, there will be an "up" and a "down" button to use.
Once you are in the correct menu, you will have to push the menu button or the enter button to activate the setting. This all depends on the monitor model.
LCD Shuts down
The monitor screen may be OK, but the monitor electronics are not. YOu state that the comuter works fine with a different monitor. That leaves out the video card. If you reall ywant confirmation of a bad
monitor, Try it on another computer ansdI am willing to bet that it
will again shut off. Take it to a shop for repair or replace it.
Monitor cannot be turned on
You will need to check the power adaptor for voltage , if that checks out then you will have to check the power circut in the monitor, look at the protection component and diodes in the power circut
Turned on my computer this
replace the monitor. try another monitor. if another monitor is OK then it's time to get a new video card.
Screen black
Take the post (power on self test) disconnect vga cable and connect power cable if monitor shows no signal check signal cable massage then monitor is ok fault is in cpu. open it and clean the dust
by vaccum cleaner you will get the display again
Something is blown inside my monitor
This is not a good sign, I have been there, other than a loose connector, it sounds like the module that enables the power up cycle is blown. Have you tried the monitor on another machine? if the same thing is happening then it's time for service. There are several other things it could be but there is no sense running down a list of possibles till we know that it is 100% the monitor and not the machine. If it is the monitor you had better find out if it's covered, or not, the price has come down so mutch that if it's not covered, the shipping on a 19 inch that I also needed packeing at the local Pak and ship ,was over 70.00 just to send it to viewsonic, luckilly they lost it and paid me the original price after a 6 week wait, make sure you take insurance if it must go. I'll wait for you to figure out if it's the monitor.thanks Gym

22" X2gen Screen Gone Black
Hi...there,
Well...You're out of lucks! Only mfg. carried this parts... But you can try to repaired it, by replaced a few busted capacitors... Good lucks!
Monitor power light is blinking .but monitor is not displaying anything
We had the same problem with a Princeton VL1918 19" LCD monitor.
Usually its a capacitor problem. If this is the case you might need to
take the monitor apart look on the power board for the bulged
capacitors and pull the numbers off of the caps. Go to a radio shack or
find an electronics store in your area, get a soldering gun a soldering
vaccum bulb and a wet sponge. Make sure you plug the right post into
the right hole before you solder it. There is a Negative and a Positive
on the caps. The wafer board should say where the negative whole is,
also the capacitors on the board will show a negative side. Just use a
pen or a sharpie mark for the negative posts, there may be a few caps
that may be bulged. On the Princeton I just fixed it had three of the
same capacitors 470uf at 25volts. Make sure you get the right caps or
you have the potential to mess your monitor up even more than it
already is. Inspect all your caps on your power board, Im sure there
will be some rather larger ones and some small ones, if they look bad
or you even suspect them of being bad REPLACE THEM. Capacitors are
CHEAP so replace them if you suspect them of being bad. Solder new caps
onto the board and then clip the extra cap posts. A note on safety.
PLEASE BE SAFE DESOLDERING OLD CAPS. They can be charged in some cases.
Just don't cross the posts when desoldering. The new ones that are
packaged should not be charged but safety first ALWAYS assume a
capacitor IS charged at all times! You will live longer if you take
that approach!
BROKEN MONITOR BASE
The 4 holes on the back are standard and you may find on the web, a monitor mount. You could also search ebay for the exact same monitor with a broken screen and get it very cheap and use the base off it.
X2gen 19" monitor
open the monitor there is a vertical ic which has small alluminium heat sink ckeck 12v supply to ic if present then remove ic & check 12v at same point if present then replace ic if absent then check 12v regulator ic if faulty replace it
