Do I have to have a special charger for my svp s580
Any 5 V 2000 mA charger will work. The issue is the power connector. Here is what they look like: http://www.amazon.com/SVP-Tablet-Wall-Charger-inch/dp/B00DEO9OT2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423228831&sr=8-1&keywords=svp+charger

Wont turn on
When a camera does not want to work, first thing to do is remove the battery (Batteries) and charge them. Also look if all contacts on the battery and battery compartment of the camera are clean and shiny. Try to charge batteries at least evert 3 months, when you don't use them, and always charge them one or two days before you want to use the camera.

My SVP Aqua WP5300 camera
I have the same camera and the only way you can do it is by purchasing a micro SD card (4GB should do) and a MicroSD Card reader )I recommend the Kodak R 111). You can buy them online or in a store. It will range between USD 10-30 depending on what you get. You just insert the MicroSD Card into your MacBookPro and you can open it directly from your desktop.
I honestly do not know why there is even a USB outlet because it wont work unless the camera is switched on.

I have an SVP XThinn-8068
Buy a card reader if you don't have one, then remove the card from the Camera to download the pictures.
This way it is faster and will not use the power of the camera at all.
Hope this helps.

SVP HDDV2600 is frozen and
All you're telling me is, it wont shut off or respond to anything, right? My first try would be since you have not mentioned it, would be to remove the battery or batteries and wait a good 10 minutes and try again and, if you have tried this before without a manual or can't return it, don't be so quick to trash it, mybe in the near future like my problem and discovering this site someone hopefully soon will come to your aid too. Good luck.
