OMG, do they come and go or stay? You are most likely dealing with a failed LCD panel, a common problem with many older Samsung panels. If you can send me a pic of the screen @ [email protected], I would tell you for sure.

Possably the wrong type of HDMI cable, Wrong resolution being input to it, not switching the input mode, or a defective HDMI port on the TV.
