The video output of your laptop is non existent since your screen and external monitor both do not work. See if it will boot up with a boot disk like the hiren 15.2 disk. You are looking for some sign of life on the screen. If nothing diagnosis is confirmed. - Hardware issue. Only way to repair this is to replace the mo bo with another known working unit. For what the repair will cost you , you are better off getting a new laptop since prices have really come down. And stay away from HP since their customer service policy sucks. The will only help you during warranty period - after that it's, hasta la vista, baby!

Hp pavillion entertainment pc wont power on

HP had lots of issues in the past with faulty power Jack. If you are inclined, you can also removed the motherboard and test the fuses to see if one is blown ( use a multimeter to see if there is one that does not allow power to pass thru). Otherwise you will need a new motherboard. It might also be the power button module that is not working or the cable that goes from your power button to your motherboard is either loose or disconnected. Let's go back to your motherboard if you plug in your laptop and the battery light does not come on even if battery is inserted, then the problem is with the motherboard.

How do I get rid

Once your computer is booting just press the F8 key soon as you see the booting screen ( manufacturer logo ). Windows will then ask you how you want to start your computer. Just highlight safe mode and select it. Then it will start. Into your search menu just type a search for the "appdata" folder. Usually when you are getting some crap it runs there. Just open the file once it found it and click onto the "roaming" file. If you see any program that seems suspicious, just delete it. Sometimes you will see the icon of the program that bothers you onto the desktop of your computer once logged into safe mode. Just delete it as well.

HP pavilion entertainment laptop monitor will not

Your computer is becoming way too hot and the soder between your graphic card and monitor is melting. You need to get your computer opened and reheat your graphic card ( I usually use a heat gun.) Make sure you do not heat it too much as you could screw up your graphic card. Once it is done, just hook the battery, ram, powering unit and hook-up your screen to see if your screen works. If it works then you need to place 2 copper shims between the heat sink contact points with your processor and graphic card to keep everything at a normal temperature. Then reassemble your computer.

Powers up but black screen shows

1st - Try pressing <Fn> + <BrithnessUP> keys a few times, (on HP <Fn> key is between <Ctrl> key and <Windows> key, <BrightnessUP> key is <F8> key and <BrightnessDown> key is <F7> key. If nothing happens try the 2nd one.
2nd - Plugin external monitor, (type and size doesn't matter). Turn on your laptop. If you can see desktop on the external monitor, your drivers are o.k., The problem is your laptop display, NOT the graphic chip.
