Sorry to here about your HP, HD problems.
1st. what kind of hard drive are you installing ? What size and kind did you have orig. ?
I would download disk manager from the internet, or if its a
SeaGate drive,
SeaTools and run partition manager.
2nd. Also if you have a
utility in your BIOS setup to check your hard drive (S.M.A.R.T.), I
would attempt to run that utility and check the outcome.
3rd. If your unit has a floppy disk drive, it is
probelly a older unit and you may want to see if HP has a BIOS upgrade for it.
Also, if you check the forms @ HP, you may find others with the same type of problems.
If your unit came with a restoration disk set, I would load from that set and make any changes
after-wards.
