The copy is blank. tried

Hi,

The shutter is the problem with the printer..
It is not the one that is next to toner. it is actually above the paper tray. You need to take 3 sides off to get to it.

It has happened because when we change the toner we tend to shut the side compartment too hard. If you call cannon or find a local repair center they will install a newer version of the shutter that will not fail.

if you want to fix it yourself, follow these steps
There is a 1/2" X 3" metal shutter that you can see when you remove the toner cartridge. This door was kind of stuck half way open. simply with a screwdriver open the shutter. The shutter will pop open and then fell all the way closed. It now moves freely and you can see that this is the laser aperature. Once you get the shutter operating smothly, your machine will copy and print again

So this is not the issue with the toner, even if you buy new toner it wont work...

Please leave me comment,if you need further assistance

You orginal feed rollers may be worn out. when this happens, the paper slips and the machine thinks the paper is too long.

Says memory is full....

This can happen if the file you are printing is very large, like a lard PDF file for example. The printer has internal memory.
First thing you need to try is fresh new driver, you can get those here: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=239&modelid=13242#DownloadDetailAct

CANON MF6550

The error you are describing is usually cause by a bad cartridge but if you have tried a new Canon cartridge because refills will cause this a lot then we would need to look internally. If you look inside the unit (cartridge removed) on the right hand side towards the bottom you will see 3 flat metal plates. These are called spring plates when you push on them they should move in and out check and make sure they are not bent or depressed in you can try and use your fingers to fix them if they are. If not this unit would still be under the 3 year manufacture warranty call Canon they should give you service options. 800-828-4040

Canon Imageclass MF 6550 - Can't print labels... help!

I have called canon with this problem more than once and they keep telling me that I am using a "paper" that is not supported. I finally gave up and ended up telling them that I am now going to use my cheap HP printer because it can do what it's suppose to.

If so open up the Left hand side door if you peer inside at the fuser (hot bit) can you see any damage. if so needs replacement.

Also could be the drum, look in the same area at the green/blue cylinder, these do up to approx 30,000 pages.

Hope this helps.

Top feeder not working MF6550

One or both of the ADF hinges are bad. The ADF cover doesn't close all of the way causing feed failure of the original and shading on the side of the copy because the scanned original is not fully contacting the **** exposure glass on the front operators side.
