Check the mode the tv is on (Use "Source" button on remote to change modes). There are several modes to choose from.

I will say that the part that you bought could have been removed from another LCD and it might not be working properly due to components that become defective when they overheat.
It looks like there are not service parts or they are difficult to find.
Most power supplies I've repaired have components that failed after about 1500 hours of use.
The only way to get the LCD working is to repair the power supply to the component level instead of swapping it.
In about 95% of the time the power board is defective.

The majority of these LCDs have problems with the power supply. Once the power supply is fix, the LCD should work.

Ask a remote from this website it will work.

Locate the big mains smoothing capacitor (near the mains input usually) its often 40uf-220uf 400v on 240v mains.
Switch on and test the voltage across this capacitor and expect 300volts or more (320v average uk) or 1.414 times the mains RMS voltage

It sounds like a defective power supply module that is causing the failure on your TV. In about 95% of the time the power supply fails but there could other failure(s) in the other LCD circuitry.

I have just repaired one of these sets for the 2nd time. The problem is definitely the Capacitors on the Main Power Supply Board. If you are handy, you could replace them yourself, or You can send your board to me and I will make the repair for you. Akai initially used what I feel are sub-standard Capacitors on these boards, and I have found that by replacing most of them, this problem can be eliminated. First do a hard reset by unplugging it for a couple hours, then plug it in and try again to power it on. If no change, or power light just flickers then goes off again, your power supply may need rebuilt or replaced. Try this reset first, post back if no change.

The MLT169A is a version number issued by MegaMeet in asia who built the supply. The correct part number for the SMPS for that unit is: E7802-005008 and unfortunately they are no longer available... However, there is some good news, those supplies can usually be rebuilt but you need to have the equipment, knowledge to make the repair...

The issue seems to be a power supply problem. The television has a switching power supply. This might be the problem. I would suggest getting it repaired at a television repair shop due to the possible complexity of the work that needs to be done.
