Printer says error 1203

I am having issues with my printer having a communication error with my
computer. Whenever I try to print or scan from the computer, the error
"Communication not Available" comes up on the computer screen.
I
have removed & installed the drivers many times, I have reloaded
the USB drivers many times an run the DELL patch from their website
many times, all with the same result. The drivers I have been using are
both from the DELL website and from the original CD, both with the same
result. I have also turned off my firewall temporarily, still with no
luck.
Last night I spent 4 hours on the phone with DELL, and all they did was exactly what I have already done.
Is it the printer, my computer or is it something on my computer OS that is blocking the printer?
I am running Vista Home Premium on a DELL computer.
Follow these steps in order to resolve the issue:
Stop the Print Spooler Service: 1) Click Start. 2) Type ‘cmd’ in the Start Search box.Search results should appear. 3) Right-click on ‘cmd’ in the search results, and select Run as Administrator. The command window will appear.4) Type ‘net stop spooler’ into the command window and press <ENTER>.The Print Spooler service should now be stopped.
Delete the Printer Drivers: .
1) Click Start.
2) In the Start Search box, type ‘C:WindowsSystem32SpoolDriversw32x86’ and press <ENTER>.
3) Delete all the files and folders in this directory.
NOTE: If the folder will not delete, rename folder to w32x86.old.
Remove the Dell printer software:
1) Click Start.
2) Click Control Panel.
3) Click Programs.
4) Click Programs and Features.
5) Click the software related to the attached Dell printer to highlight it.
6) Click Uninstall/Change.
7) Follow through the prompts in order to remove the software.
8) Restart the computer.
At this point, the user should install the latest printer software from http://support.dell.com and be able to print successfully.

I've had my printer for 13 months and I have only used it a handfull of times. Recently, when I turn "on" the printer, it makes a loud clunk noise and "Clear the carrier jam..." appears on the screen. I have no idea how to fix it. Dell does not offer an extended coverage on this printer, once the coverage has expired. I've tried disconnecting the power supply, I called Dell's Technical Support Department, and after 30 minutes of troubleshooting with a "tech", (obviously reading the instructions off a handout) he came to the conclusion that "the printer has simply gone bad..." Nothing against the guy, really... I'm simply frustrated...
Can anyone please help? PLEASE!!!!
could something be stuck in the printer? clip/ paper/ dust
might be that simple!

When I give the command to print, the printer acts like it's going to,,,,, it says printing on the screen,,,,,but then it does nothing. Any ideas?
Go to your "start menu" and look for "printers and faxes" then after that it should bring up a screen with your current printers and faxing machines. Make sure your Dell 926 InkJet has a little black check by it. If not then right-click the Dell InkJet and select "set as default printer". If it already is, then right-click it again and make sure it isn't paused. It will give you an option to "resume printing". After that then it should work. Make sure to also delete the old printers that may be on the computer too, the reason is because it may block out your other computer.

My Dell AIO 926 (on Vista Home Edition) stopped printing.
I get the error message ''printer status window interface stopped working and was closed''
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Vista x32 drivers multiple times in troubleshooting.
The AIO 926 will scan just fine, so I know its communicating, it just won't print.
Any Ideas?
I know this sounds too simple, but get a new USB cord. I had the exact same problem and it was driving me crazy. I followed all the advice about uninstalling, reinstalling and updating multiple times and it never fixed the problem. Finally, my husband made the simple suggestion that maybe it was a problem with the connectivity of the USB cord. I didn't have much faith in it, but I bought a new USB cord and hooked it up - and I have never had a problem with the printer since then. My original USB cord (the one replaced) was the one that came with the Dell printer - perhaps there is a flaw in the cord somewhere. ?

i have a dell aio 926 printer. it will not print. it says document stuck in queue, but the item will not delete or print.
Its a common problem. All you have to do is to restart the Print Spooler service and delete the print queue. To restart the service follow the steps: Open Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Now find service named "Print Spooler" and right click over it and select "Restart" to restart the service.
Now open the "Printers and Faxes" folder and try to delete the print queue. Now you will be able to delete the print queue. If applicable you can follow the steps once again if any print queue refuse to get deleted.
Once the print queue is empty, you can print from your printer smoothly.
Cheers!

printer won't print; pending documents stay in queue.
Possibly, the printer driver is corrupt or wrong version, printer cable is bad or not plugged, printer on standby (not online), or defective printer.
Do a self-test print on your printer. Most printer has self-test print function, look into your model's documentation. If the self-test prints, then more likely your driver issue. Uninstall the printer driver and reinstalling should resolve it. Goto Start->Control Panel->Printers. You can remove and install printers from there.

I have a Dell 926, and when I try to print something, a message pops up saying my printer cannot be found. I have disconnected and reconnected the USB cors. I have restarted my computer. I have turned the computer on and off, but it still says it is not connected. What can I do?
This unfortunately is a very common problem for this printer. There is a way around it. It's a pain but better than rebooting which also seems to resolve the issue. Go into control panel, printers and choose the dell. Right click on the dell printer and choose properties. Click on printing preferences then the Maintenance tab and choose Network support. Wait a second and then it should start printing whatever is in your queue.

need a power supply cord for the Dell Photo 926 Printer - can't find it on the Dell site
I'm pretty sure this is the right cord. http://www.cablestogo.com/product.asp?cat_id=1021&sku=27398
Match the picture with the back of your printer before you purchase.
