A "wafer-thin CD player" stopped

Hello,

Try cleaning the CD and the lens of your CD player. You should also try different CDs and check if some of them will work.

I have a Brookstone radio

Hi, would love to help you out, will be difficult with out model...so what you need to do is to, contact the manufacturer.

I would suggest you contact the manufacturer of your Brookstone radio via phone or e-mail and request for the service manual from them or help. They might give it to you or direct you to a dealer where you can get the service manual.

This is the best you can do to get the service manual you are requesting for.

Good luck.

CenterPoint Energy installed a new

If you dont have specific knowledge of electronics I would advise against opening up the unit. Since the unit is completely dead it points to the power supply. The plug could be faulty(you can only check it if it is not sealed), The powercord could have a broken conductor or perhaps it is as simple as a blown fuse(This can happen when power to the unit was switched on and off repeatedly in a short space of time).
To prove any of these components you would need at least a multimeter. If you want to open the unit remove the screws from underneath(after having unplugged it off course! ). There should be one under the warrenty sticker as well. Have a look around the inside of the unit close to where the power cord is situated. On the circuit board should be a fuse. It looks like a glass tube about half inch long and as thick as a pencil with a silver cap on each end. It can be removed by lifting out first one end and then the other from the holder. This is the only part of the unit you can replace by yourself without the nescesary equipment.
I would rather suggest that you send it in for repairs or find a willing first year electronics university student to do it for you. By the end of your first year they should know all there is to know about power supplies.

Alarm doesn't work

I finally figured it out. I was setting the alarm for p.m., which isn't labeled such, instead of a.m., which is labeled. For example, the alarm might read "8:00", but that actually means 8:00 p.m.

The radio stations have a FROZEN Zero on the end.

Most radio broadcast radio station frequencies end with a zero. The readout will likely always have a zero at the right end of the number for the digital type tuners.

My roadking rk4000 wont charge. I turn it off to charge it but there is no indicator light at all, any suggestions?

Are you using the charging cables that came with it? That is a type C. Are you securely attaching the charging cable? A loose connection would keep the battery from charging. If you had a low battery, you would see a red light. That you have no light at all suggests there is no charge left in the battery. I'm not sure the reset will work with no charge which is why you ought to check the cables first. But turn it off and then hold down the Multifunction button for 10 seconds to reset it. Then turn it back on and see what happens. If you can, test the charging cable on aother device. If you have another type C charging cable, try it, just to eliminate a bad cable. If these suggestions don't work, you may try the manufacturer's customer support.
