The battery is not compatible with your laptop or maybe defective. As you mention, you purchase this battery and I believe they will replace the battery. Just show them the problem and insist that the battery you purchase is not charging, sure they will replace it.

All your stuff is stored on your D drive with hidden folder name HI TRUST DRIVE and in a file eDS_PSD_drive.vmdf. The HiTrustDrive holds Acers back-up data of your system, you should have made recovery discs from this when you first had the laptop. When making these discs you are asked to define a password, you will need the password to view the files, if you have forgotten it just boot to a linux live cd and you can view the password, it is stored in plain text on a hidden partition in the following file: /TOOLS/AIMDRS.DAT.

Purchase Win7 System Disc.
Power up laptop and go into BIOS setting the DVD/CD Rom as first boot device.
Place OS disk in drive and boot from disk
Navigate the menu and questions and there you have it. Windows 7 on your laptop.
Now, download all of the drivers as required from Acer.com.
Download Windows updates and resore any backup data files.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers for spare part supplies and Driver downloads as required.

i think the cmos battery needs a replacement cauz you say the time is syncronised when you shut down your machine.man resson for this is the cmos battery is off needs replacement.
but befor that check the time option by double clicking on the time on the taskbar and go to internet time option and choose to syn it with world time and also check that you have choosed the corect time region.

you can clear coms but if your are sure you can dismantel your laptop carefully then you can remove the coms battery and turn on once and fix it back that will reset your coms setting.

Hi there don't worry. After reboot you have to disable it every time. Because by default its enable everytime after reboot. So, Please press FN+F7 for enable or disable it every time.. The symbol on your keyboard is below. Just press FN+ below mention symbol. Thanks.
