hi it flickers due to incorrect frequency setting.. LCD should be set to 60Hz. go to desktop, right click, graphics properties, display settings and set to 60Hz

hi is this password or BIOS related password ? have you tried removing the CMOS battery ?

hitry rebooting the system (i think its F8, to get to SAFEMODE) . in DESKTOP , right click and go to PROPERTIES, go to SETTINGS, go SCREEN RESOLUTION and take the arrow to the left ; set to 640x800 and and take the color setting to 256 drop down . hopefully this works after rebooting the system. if it doesnt, it may sound like the inverter card may be bad (PC bourd that connectes to the screen : this requires a service technician) good luck !

hiturn off the notebook. take a regualr desktop monitor VGA or LCD monitor and plug into the notebook (make sure to power up both the notebook with AC adapter and power cord for monitor). Turn both on and you should see video on the desktop monitor . if you do not see anything, i would hint at the fact that the notebook screen may be bad. Do you hear the hard disk drive spinning when you turn on the notebook ? if so, thats a good indication that the mainboard is still working and that the LCD screen on the notebook is not functioing . You will have to replace the LCD (notebook) screen

just install the hotkeys driver from the acer website and they should work again! ^.^

When the CPU in the computer or laptopoverheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermal overload) and won't boot upagain until it has cooled down. If this is the problem is not fixed then theCPU will eventually fail. A faulty fan causes this problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan. If the fan and heat sink is clogged withdust the remove the dust and make sure the vents are clear and dust free. Use acan of compressed air to do this.

When I lost my windows password, I like to reset Windows Password with Windows Password Reset 9.0 and I think it is excellent and professional! Once the password is removed, there is no need to type any passwords but to leave it blank, and click the user name to instantly log on Windows.

Two methods;

A)
1) Remove ALL power to the laptop, except the CMOS battery.
Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

2) Press the Power On button in, and hold it in for a full count of FIVE seconds.
Let go of the Power On button.
Do this procedure TWO more times. (Important)

This procedure clears CMOS Error Codes, and resets BIOS Setup back to the factory default settings.
Reinstall power. Install the Battery FIRST, then the AC adapter.


B)
Go into BIOS Setup.

As soon as you press the Power On button, start tapping in 2 second intervals, on three keys at the SAME TIME.

Press all 3 keys at the same time.
CTRL, ALT, and ESC.

No?
Hold the Power On button down for 10 seconds to turn the laptop off.
Wait 30 seconds, turn the laptop back on.

As soon as you press the Power On button start tapping on the F2 key.
(Tap in 2 second intervals)

When in BIOS Setup look at the main page, and towards the bottom.
Here you will see an F key listed that when pressed, will revert BIOS Setup back to the factory default settings. (Generally F6)


C) Remove all power from the laptop.
Lay a towel on a table, and lay the laptop upside down on the towel.

Open the Memory Compartment Panel, and remove all ram memory modules. ('Stick')
Located towards the middle of the ram memory compartment is the J3 jumper.
There is a J3 with a square line going around it.

This jumper is used to clear any settings made, and will go straight back to all factory default settings.
In otherwords if someone set a BIOS password, the J3 jumper will remove it.
Factory setting for BIOS password is no password.

Remove all ram memory modules.

The J3 Clear CMOS Jumper is in the middle of the ram memory compartment.

Go down to the second 'paragraph' that begins with Satellite 1200.
Go down to the 8th line in this paragraph. (Begins with 5538)
Go across, and left-click on 5630.

(Flat tipped screwdriver that the blade just fits across the contact points. May be a clear cover over these contact points. Peel it back. Make sure it is reused)
