You should verify that there is enough ink in the cartridges of your printer.

Have you verified that the cartridges of your printer are not empty of ink ?
Did you installed the correct driver for your printer ?

i need adisk to install z645 printer towindows vista couputer

Usually the black goes in the right pot and the color to the left..There is usually a difference with the cartridges so that they will not be interchagable in the left or right. Also the color on the tops usually match the pot they go in...

I also have a Z645 and have had it now for almost a year...love it's performance but now all of a sudden it only prints certain things...duh! I don't know if any of you that have problems went to the sdolution center for Lexmark but on there ...there an upgrade to your printer, which is not is a section that says you MAY need to install an upgrade which sometimes corrects the problem UNLESS of course you do as I do with my "other" lexmark and they tell you that there no longer is any updates so in that case you are S.O.L....basically you need to buy a new printer......I am gonna call tech support tomorrow for my problem but getting the upgrade MAY help you others....good luck!

1. Make sure that the USB cable is unplugged from your computer and your printer. USB devices work differently from older devices and usually need to have the drivers installed before you connect the device.
   
   
2. If you have an installation disk, insert it into the drive. If there is an installer provided, it should run or be executed here. Follow its instructions, and it should take care of installing your printer in a few moments.
   
   
3. If you don't have an installation program, plug the USB cable into your computer and your printer. This should trigger the Add New Hardware Wizard.
   
   
4. Click Next, and then select Search for the best driver for your device. Click Next.
   
   
5. Uncheck all options except Specify a Location. Click Browse. Browse to the disk, CD, or directory where your printer drivers are located. Click OK, and then click Next twice.

First check to see if there is ink in the color cartridge. Your installation manual or manufacturer's website should be able to give you this info. Call the manufacturer if you need to talk to a technician. If the color cartridge is full, then proceed to the next two methods.
Next, try a "hard restart", which simply means unplugging the power cord of the printer, then replugging it after a few seconds have passed.
If that does not work, then rerun the CD that you used when you originally installed the printer.
Both techniques reprogram the printer to a certain extent. Hope one of them works for you.
