Polaroid M635 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
I have a Polaroid m635,
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).
Was working ok till last nite try to make it work
Sorry, but lens assemblies are fragile, and there's no safe or simple DIY fix. In fact, any attempt at homebrew repair will likely make the damage even worse. I suggest you take it to a local camera shop (NOT the camera department at a chain store) or contact Polaroid customer service via their web site to arrange repair. Be sure to get a firm price before you commit though. The fix can easily approach the cost of a new camera, and repairs are typically only guaranteed for 30 days.
I cant install my camera on my laptop (Vista)
Hello. In order to install your digital camera you will need the disk that came with the camera, called a driver. If you do not have a disk you can download the driver for free from the internet. Just google polaroid m635 driver and they download and run. Enjoy your pictures. Regards, Joe.

Won't read my memory card
Did you format the card in the camera before you tried to use it? Do that first and it will probably work. Also, check to make sure the switch on the side of the card is not in the locked position.

Pictures are not being saved on my new SD card.
Hi Greg,
Make sure you format the card in the camera before you use it. Cards won't work most of the time, until you do. Also, check to make sure the switch on the side is not in the locked position.

Camera does not recognize memory card
Did you format your memory card before you tried to use it? Format your SD card in the camera first and see if you still have the problem. Also, check to make sure the switch on the card is not in the locked position.

Can't view photos on camera
The image when recorded in the camera is known as JPEG[EXIF}
The EXIF bit is all the essential data the camera recorded about the camera [make model] exposure detail and much else.
When the computer gets the images - it does not know about or need EXIF so it ignores it.
Thus the images becomes a plain JPEG.
Cameras cannot read plain JPEG.
There are ways and means of 'restoring'[fudging to fool the camera]
but in reality is it worth it?
However if you want to try down load and learn to use Irfanview[Its free - simply type 'Irfanview' in your browser.
The cord to go from camera to laptop
If the camera has removable memory card then the best buy is a USB card reader.
As for cords generally- they are pretty universal
PC/Photo stores have them or the usual mail order
stores
