Half circle symbol means printer is in ready state. The printer control panel is comprised of six lights and two buttons. The lights produce patterns that identify the printer status.

1 Jam light: Indicates that there is a jam in the printer.
2 Toner light: When the print cartridge is low, the Toner light illuminates. When the print cartridge is out of the printer,
the Toner light blinks.
3 Paper out light: Indicates that the printer is out of paper.
4 Attention light: Indicates that the print-cartridge door is open or other errors exist.
5 Ready light: Indicates that the printer is ready to print.
6 Go button and light: Initiates action or indicates status.
7 Cancel button: To cancel the print job that is currently printing, press the Cancel button.

Hi there,
You can test the printer by three ways,
1. Press and hold Green button for atleast 5 seconds it will take out the configuration printer, also the toner status page will come too
2. If the toner light is on , check the current toner status from the test prints taken before,
3. if the Error light is on, make sure there is no paper jaming in the printer, remove any paper stucked on the tray side, as well as check by removing the toner also
One thing more you can check the configuration for the Printer tray selected in the system,
Remove the Printer Drivers from the computer and try installing the software again, sometimes if you have selected manual tray feeding, or you have selected Tray 1 as default Tray and there is no page in the Tray 1 it will also, gives you the error on printer, 2nd thing you can check is the Paper size, both in computer and on tray 2 in printer, you take out a tray from the printer and adjust the nob to A4 . if you are using this printer on network, you have to reinstall the drivers for the printer, and it should give you the print,

Hi try this solution.

Go to START MENU
Choose RUN (For Windows XP) or Choose Commad prompt, right click and run as administrator ( Fow window vista and windows 7)
Type the letter "cmd"
Type the word "net stop spooler"
Exit
Go to C drive
Choose to Windows Folder
Click show content
Choose system32 folder
Choose spool folder
Choose printer
And delete all printing jobs pending
Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler"
Restart your computer also turn off your printer and switch it on.
It will work fine right now

There is problem on spooler setting, here's how to clear your spooler.

Here is the procedures

Go to START MENU
Choose RUN (For Windows XP) or Choose Commad prompt, right click and run as administrator ( Fow window vista and windows 7)
Type the letter "cmd"
Type the word "net stop spooler"
Exit
Go to C drive
Choose to Windows Folder
Click show content
Choose system32 folder
Choose spool folder
Choose printer
And delete all printing jobs pending
Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler"
Restart your computer also turn off your printer and switch it on.
It will work fine right now

If it is steady :

The printer is ready with no

job activity.

To print a Configuration

page, press and hold the Go

button for 5 seconds.

To print a Demo page, press
and release the Go button

If Blinking:

The printer is processing or

receiving data.

To cancel the current job,
press the Cancel button

Press menu then information then print configuration. The second page will have that info on it.

here is where you can download the printer, be sure to download 32 bit or 64 bit windows 7 also do not have the printer plugged in to the computer untill you install the software then when it asks for the printer then plugh it in to finish install, notice there are 6 printers with letters on one side of them A,B, C, D,E, andf. be sure you havethe right model number with the correct letter. here is the web page to download from.

If you switched to Windows 7, get the latest driver from HP.

All the drivers are here, select the OS you are using and reload the driver.

Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.

Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage. Now Remove the ink cartridges from the print head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head. Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now
If that does not work then follow the next step.

Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

I've been told that there is a problem with something called the format board. Apparently it is a defect, but HP will not fix after the warranty ends. There are a couple of claimed repairs, one which involved removing the board and baking it. Sounds wierd, but it shows up many places. Apparently to have it replaced by HP will cost as much as the printer. I did find some boards available for purchase; allegedly they are not difficult to install.

Configure it to "double-sided" or "duplex" mode.

Printer says it has a jammed paper stuck inside. Find it and remove it. Get it all.
It doesn't have to be a full sheet either. Use a flash light if you have too.
