How do I transfer pictures from the internal
I'm not sure that you can do that in the camera. You probably have to transfer internal memory to computer via usb cable. You could then transfer to sd card from computer if needed.

i have same problem immediately after putting the recharged batteries in ? camera 18 months old use less than 10 times sine purchase.
as just out of warrantee nothing can be done so its a bin job by the looks of it !!!

This is more than likely a Manufacturing problem. A lot of Vivitar cameras have this problem as well as many others that are usually not the consumers fault. Just a glitch in the technology. I alone have gone through four Vivitar cameras in the last six months. The best thing to do is contact Vivitar directly. This is there website: www.vivitar.com It is best to see if you can find the number for technical support. To see if they can give you a refund or replace it for you. I hope this helps. -Richard

Try and see if you can play back old pictures that were taken on with this camera. if so the LCD is good and the suspect seems the CCD - imaging device - or the control circuit.
If there is no picture seen then the LCD is a suspect.
To check the CCD and control board it is ideal to take support from service center specially when estimate and spares are needed.
How do I turn off
There is nothing in the manual to indicate that it can be turned off.
