Try setting your TV Input to AV. Are you sure that you have the audio and video cables connected properly? Video out to video in and audio out to audio in? It can be easy to get them reversed.

Try a factory reset. This might re-enable the other functions.

Try this:
1. Press and hold "Menu" and "Channel+" on the TV. (do not use the remote)
2. Using the other hand, press the Power button.
3. A small screen should appear in the top left part of the screen.
4. Using the remote, select "Memory Recall" and Enter.
5. Power off and reboot the TV and Computer.
6. Run channel auto-scan to regain the picture.

If this is affecting the brightness of the screen, then I would guess that you have a high voltage power supply problem. This TV uses high voltage to power the fluorescent tubes that illuminate the screen. It will need repair.

You will probably need to try a hardware reset.

Try this:

Check the video refresh rate from your video card. Set it for 60Hz, and a resolution low enough for your monitor to display.

Ensure that you have a good connection to your antenna/cable/satellite, and that you have selected the proper signal type in your TV menu.

If you are using a cable box or satellite, you might need to search for an analog signal on channel 3 or 4. If your cable/satellite box outputs an HDTV signal, then search the digital channels. If you are using an antenna, search for digital channels and set it the TV to Air in the Channel menu.

Analog TV is pretty much dead. It is unlikely that you will find any analog channels. Search only for digital channels.

Try your monitor's menu:
1. Press Menu
2. Select Picture
3. Select Advanced
4. Select Auto

If that does not fix it, try using your computer's graphics card software to set the picture position and size.

Can you use a digital camera to view your remote to see if it is sending out signals when it should not? It might have dirty buttons from food or other dirt. This can cause it to send signals even when the buttons are not being pressed.

1. Remove the batteries from your remote to ensure that is not sending signals to the TV.

2. The TV may have an internal problem and might need repair.

Is the power cord plugged in all the way? Try a different power cord if you see no indication of power. If that doesn't fix it, you might have a bad power supply. Electrolytic capacitors in the power supply are a common failure component and it might be cheaper to repair than to replace. I am a repair technician and was able to repair my two AOC televisions for less than $3 by replacing 4 electrolytic capacitors. You will need to pay a technician for parts and labor.

You might need to do a hardware reset if somebody programmed a password into your TV. This will erase all settings and set it back to the factory defaults.

Try this:

Your flat panel TV probably has a high voltage power supply for the fluorescent tubes that illuminate the display. An accumulation of dust or dirt contamination can cause voltage to arc inside. If you can see lots of dirt or dust inside, you might want to have it cleaned.

Your monitor's power supply may be on the left side. Ensure that your monitor has plenty of ventilation so that it can run cooler. Poor ventilation can cause early failure. Electrolytic capacitors can be damaged easily from too much heat, causing early failure. This is the same for your computer and the brick power supplies for electronics. Electrolytic caps are a common failure component.

This might be one of two problems. You might be able to change orientation through your monitor's menu. You might also be able to change orientation through your computer preferences or a software program from your graphics card manufacturer that enables many special settings such as 'Inverted' or 'Mirror'.

Contact the authorized service center for AOC. It sounds that the firmware has been corrupted beyond recovery.
Try a hard reset first. I don't think it will help you. Anyway try once. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.
