I had a similar problem when I tried to use an hiphone i32triband (the seller said it was a cect168 quadband)...does your wireless network support g3 quadband? or your phone's band? and if so, is your phone at the proper setting? go to settings on your phone and make sure it's at your network providers' band setting. all u can do is get a new screen. If u have warranty on your sidekck parts, it will be easier to get replacement parts

I think there is a way to change the volume but the button on mine doesn't seem to respond to touch When you first turn on ur screen there should be a lil bell in the top left corner Ive gotten it to work once It turned my phone silent but other than that it doesnt respond Ive tried using it while the keyboard was out to get it to switch sides but still no good You can try playing with that otherwise we'll all just have to make that long trip to profiles just to turn our phone volume up and down

Sounds like the phone is on a contract with a different supplier. Contact the original SIM supplier, EE, O2, Vodaphone etc and ask them to unblock the phone.
