While playing my MP3s thru my sound system, the
When you plug it into the computer does the computer still recognize it? If it does you may be able to download a firmware update for it or do a factory reset from the PC. More than likely the OS on the player has crashed and it will need to be restored. Do you still have the factory cd rom that came with it? If you do, you may be able to rerun the setup program that came with the iriver and it will restore the operating system.
I do believe there is a recessed reset button somewhere on the device that you can get at with a paperclip. If you press it with a paperclip for 30 seconds it will do a hard reset on the device.
If none of these things work you will more than likely have to get a repair or a replacement. You can start this process by contacting iRiver support. You can contact them via their site :http://www.iriver.com/support/faq_list.asp

Hi,
You haven't mention which OS you are using. If it is Windows OS, then right click on iriver and go to properties, and change the compatibility option to older OS.

IRiver E10 Player update required
I took mine to JB Hi-Fi where I bought it from and they're sending it to the service centre for me ... if your 1 year standard warranty hasn't expired you can take it to the place you bought it from and they can ship it off for you and they log all your details and give you a number so you can call and check the status of the repairs ... that's the only thing that will solve the problem as far as I'm aware ... they need to actually replace parts in the iriver ...

Does not open the iriver E10
- If your PC does recognize the iRiver as a USB device/drive, there is an issue with the Hard Drive.
- If your computer doesn't recognize the iRiver as a USB device/drive and can
read the files, there is an issue with the Circuitry in your e10.
- Turn the lock off and
connect it to the usb port and press the reset button (small hole in
lower left of unit, use a small object like a paperclip. The screen should
change eventually to the "USB connected" screen. Disconnect the USB at
the PC to get the "Ok to disconnect" message. Pull out the usb cable
and hold down the "off" button. Eventually the unit will turn off. Turn it on and then off to verify it is working.
If nothing works, your iRiver needs to be returned to the manufacturer.
