You may need to uninstall any existing X1270 driver from your pc first before installing the driver for Windows 7. Follow the instructions in this article on How to Uninstall Lexmark Printers. Reboot your pc when prompted.
Reinstall the driver by downloading it from the Lexmark website at Lexmark X1270 Drivers. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.

Your headers could be going bad. Try running a "clean" using the software/maintenance.

If color printing doesn't work, it sounds like the incorrect driver for that printer. Check the drivers and try again.

You can download the Lexmark printer drivers from theirsupport WEB site. Please click on this link
and select your model printer todownload :-http://support.lexmark.com/index?page=home&locale=EN&userlocale=EN_US&segment=DOWNLOAD

You may be able to download the proper programs from lexmark's customer support. If that doesnt work you could always try a torrent download for the disk.

try another USB cable or put in another usb port.

you need a usb conecting cable

Go to the Lexmark web site and download the software.

if you use windows xp:
go to control panel> add remove program
search the lexmark program then click, then chose remove
wait until process finish

if you use windows vista or windows 7:
go to control panel> program and features
at lexmark program right click and chose uninstall
wait until process finish
