I suggest not to plug the printer to your computer yet. Download the Lexmark X2470 driver using this link http://bit.ly/dy6ZQ1. Choose the driver compatible with your computer's operating system. Download, execute the file and follow the instructions on the software. If you are using a Macintosh, I regret to inform you that there are no Macintosh drivers available.

Step 1

Press the third button down from the top on your control panel---marked by an arrow pointing from a scanner icon to a computer icon---for three seconds to print out a print alignment page. When finished, follow the on-screen instructions.

Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.

Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage.
Now Remove the ink cartridges from the print head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head.
Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now
If that does not work then follow the next step.

Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

Good day, this is my advise to you. press the power button off and firmly grasp the paper and gently pull it out and press the power button to turn the printer back on. hope it will help you.

Good day Sir, I suggest use the Solution Center. to open click start - programs or all programs - Lexmark Solution Center. find the maintenance tab. Maintenance tab help you install print cartridge and troubleshoot other ink problems.

First, check your printer menu option for cartridge cleaning options and give that a try. Second, print a test page. If this doesn't work, try uninstalling the printer and reinstalling the printer again. I say all this assuming that you have a fresh cartridge already but if not you may want to try that before replacing the printer

Go to the printer manufacturer website, download and install the appropriate Windows 7 driver

In some cases, the ink cartridge carrier won't position itself in the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the white tape in the middle inside the printer. The other end of it is connected to the carrier. Gently slide the carrier to the center. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Assuming "cable modem" as some kind of DSL modem using your phone line for internet. Both your modem and MFU should be connected to the wall by a filter-separator, usually supplied with your DSL modem. Check its presens and proper connection. Remove any other joints or splitters

Lexmark cartridges are basically designed to fail after their first use so that they can not be refilled. As the owner of a printer cartridge refilling shop, we deal with this everyday. The only solution is to replace it with a working cartridge. In our shop we have a special machine that checks the cartridges before we refill them to make sure they will work again, many don't pass this test.

I guess you was asking if you can use the scanner and make a scanning and than import the scanned image or document to the computer ..yes..this is possible but the scanning has to be initiated from the software that came with the device for scanning ..and command the scan from the software after that will be in the library of the software ...of wherever you save it ..If you do not have installed a software to manage the scannings go to the Lexmark support ..and there choose teh model from the list and download scanner software ..and install in the printer ..(remember this software is something different than the driver ..The driver is just to communicate ..this is to operate the scans from computer and import the result)

Scroll to Maintaining the Printer, Page 42, for changing/installing cartridges. In some cases, even when the printer is on and you lifted the scanner unit cover, somehow the cartridge carrier won't go to the center for loading position. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the scanner unit open, hold the solid white strip in the middle inside the printer. Other end of it is connected to the cartridge carrier. Slowly drag the carrier to the center for loading position. Change the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug printer back to power source. Hope this helps. In order to find your software, you need to go to Lexmark's site:
www.lexmark.com
On their page, you will see on the top a tab named "downloads". The first option is "driver finder". Click once on that, then type: "What drivers are available for the X2470?". All you need to do then is choose which operating system you are using and simply download the drivers.

That will affect the printer's performance. I doubt if that part can be purchased. Lexmark doesn't have field tech to repair that for you. I strongly advise you to contact Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK(1-800-539-6275). They might be able to send a replacement printer if your's is still within warranty. I'm sorry but I hope I can assist you more with that.
