I have a seven year Plasma TV HP PL5060. When I turn on the TV, I have sound but no picture, the screen display (power on) is a snowy blue screen and vertical pink stripe. What is causing this problem and how can I fix it cheap. I can afford a TV repair man at this time, because I am laid off from work. Thanks.

NO you have an over heating problem, I see a bunch of Boards and Proccesors, But NO fan in this TV CHIPS get hot they need more then a heat sink that just spreads the damage

I had this problem for weeks before giving up. I just had another go and i resolved this by downloading my gpu driver but not installing, then i un-installed my mobo hd sound driver and my gpu hd sound driver. Then i installed the latest nvidia driver from my hard drive. When the driver activated i got some buzzing for 10 secs and then presto (hd sound) via HDMI. However my pc tells me still "no audio capable display". computers are often wrong.

If the set has a input or source button on the outside or side it can be got at and removed (not the plastic button but the switch under it) they do fail in this way and with it removed and the issue gone you can use the remote instead.

I would say it is power supply related. Consult a Technician.

Just replace the y sustain board

Reset the set to it factory defaults. Unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and replug it after 5 minutes or so. This must make the device to a hard reset. If this do not help you, seek tech support.

Likely to be main board issue which is the most expensive board in set and also not likely to be a do it yourself repair.

You either have a bad keyboard on your TV or the main board is bad. If you disconnect the key board after the set is on and the symptom does not change - replace your main board
