Champion 3500/4000 Watt Portable Generator - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

Hi, I believe the motor needs a ring job. You will have to disassemble and get new rings on the piston. Also look at valves guides they will need replacing. In short , you'll have to get a new motor.
Hope that helps.

Adjusting valves on any warm engine is wiser . Specifications are usually listed for both.

Petrol or diesel?

If you want it to start with a start motor, driven from a battery, my guess is the battery is in bad condition. Normally a battery will perform less when temperature is going down, but an old or worn out battery can't perform at all when it is cold. I would check that first. Just take a good battery to start one of them and see what happens. Then see if you want to replace them.

Sounds like the govenor is messed up. Check the springs on the carb linkage, maybe one of the little springs has come off or broken.

It could be a carburetor problem or it may be the low oil cut off switch. Check to make sure oil level is up. If it is check the needle valve attached to the float and the seat. The old carbs used to have a brass seat. Some of the new carbs have a rubber seat and it may need to be replaced. Hope this helps.

How did you stop it? Pull the spark plug wire?
There is a carburetor in there, somewhere.Pinch off the fuel line to or from the carb. I like needle nosed vice grips or a BIG hemostat.

Probably only one of these issues to cause that. gas not turned on or flooded- ck spark plug to see if it is wet, check to see if the spark plug is getting power by taking it out leaving the wire on it and holding it about a 1/8 of a inch away from some exposed metal part of the frame and have someone try to start it. if you get a spark then ck your gap and put it back. Ck your choke too to see if it is on. also if it was flooded then leave the choke off and keep trying to start it. if it was stored outside, it may have water in the gas.

You have a carburetor problem. Stuck float or clogged filter. Gas cannot get into the carb as fast as it is used. Letting it sit for a few minutes will allow the bowl to fill.

complain to your telco / router provider. You don't have a good enough internet signal or the wifi signal is not strong enough. Run Speedtest.
