Olympus FE-210 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Camera retracts it's lens and turns itself off about 10 seconds after I turn it on
Have you fully charged the battery? if it is a new camera or battery,it needs at least 12 hrs of charge,to maintain good charge, if only a short time of charge was given from new the life of the battery will be greatly re-juiced,try a new battery with a full charge, if this fails your camera is probably faulty, take it back to get a replacement.
Display does not show any view
You know you can change the monitor brightness? Check the manual (eventually online) to see how to change the settings. Please check if you can playback pictures you already shot, to make sure the display still works.
You also could remove the battery, charge it and then replace it. This acts like a cold boot from a computer.
How to turn up the volume on video
Generally you cannot do this as it is recorded at a particular volume (depends how close you are to the camera microphone when you were recording video). The only way to do it is in a video editor that allows audio gain adjustment (in post-process).
My camera is not turning on
This is due to the system control board being defective or it has detected a problem with the camera, this will need to be assessed to see if repair is viable.
The door that holds the batteries in will not stay
Pull the batteries out and see if it will stay closed, if it does the batteries are installed incorrectly. If it still won't stay closed your options are to either tape it shut or get a new camera unless it is under manufacture warrenty still or you have an accidental damage plan.
How do I video tape
Here is what the manual said to do:
Basicly, turn the dial to the little camera icon, then press the shutter (big button) to start recording, and press again to stop.
Hope this Helps!

Have no sound after recording
Your only fix is to buy another camera.
The FE210 is a very low cost basic video stills camera. Although it has the ability to record video when needed it does not record audio as it lacks the hardware to do so (
click here to see the Olympus model specifications which clearly show no sound recording facility listed under Movie Recording System). On your camera it's really only a free taster of video simply because the camera shares hardware with other models in the range which record both video and audio. Keeping it basic on the FE-210 keeps the price down as many users don't want to record video and so don't want to pay for unnecessary features.

Help, my camera seems to work ok , but if i take a
Hello,
One possibility that you have to check is the outdoor setting of your camera, it may have been set on a night mode that's why it's capturing too much light or it may be on an indoor mode that do not allow you to take outdoor pictures, just double check the setting or restore the default setting and it's best if you read the manual to help you set it up the way you desire.
When I switch on the
This seems to be a fault in the Main control system or the drive. A simple was is to reset and we can try by removing the battery and card for some time. Now replace only the battery and while switching power ON, tap the lens hood on the palm of your hands so as to disengage any dirt or mechanism being struck.
If the card is not detected and the main menu does not come on, then there are errors in the processor.
Unless you are familiar with handling of small devices must the camera be opened. If so check the voltage on the motor drive, check the auto focus and Zoom drives. If none of these works then you can think of taking consensus with the service centre.
Get estimate before you decide. It will be good to have it checked at the authorised service as you do not have to run around for spares.
Where can i buy replacement
Sorry, you can't. Not unless you buy a used example and cannibalise it for parts, but it's not designed with repairs and servicing in mind. Opening the case usually breaks the integrally moulded one-way clips which hold it together. In practice you can usually obtain a fully functional used replacement camera for about £15, but finding such an example is difficult as the low resale value means most folks use them until they break and then chuck them away.
It was an ultra-budget model and is now long discontinued. At that price level Olympus simply didn't provide any spare parts or servicing support, if it broke under warranty they simply sent you another one.
