Konica Minolta Magicolor 2530 DL Laser Printer - Page 6 Questions & Answers
The Error says "Cover Open Front" but it is not open
Most printers have a plastic pin on all of the covers that pushes a switch when it is closed. This then sends a signal to the printer telling it "I'm closed".
Probably the pin is broken off (quite by accident I'm sure). A solution is to push a piece of paper in the hole where the pin is, closing the switch, to fool the printer into thinking that the cover is closed. You can try this by pushing a pen point into the hole to see if the message goes out. (Don't forget to remove the paper when you open the cover. The switch is there to keep things out of the mechanism while it is running. May not hurt you but will damage the printer mechanics irreparably.)
Anything else is an error with the printer software and processor and can't be fixed easily.
Fatal Error Code 16H
Hi, pretty sure its the transfer belt not able to turn, remove it and make sure there is nothing blocking it, maybe a paper jam
Not recognizing Cartridge
try cleaning the chip and also the chip reader under the toner rack. use pressure air for cleaning.
Printing is crooked
if paper comes out straight, and lines in paper are not straight then there is problem wit laser unit, its not installed corrrectly, also you can check drum unit and transfer belt for correct installation.
1st of 3 pins seems to be loose
its a cartridge chip reader, you can remove the plastic peace with 3 pins, first remove wire, then under both sides of that plastic peace is a small knobs you can push a little and just remove it. if these pins look OK, then use pressure air to clean these pins and the plastic.

pleas check transfer belt, and drum unit, probably these lines are
caused by drum unit and you have to change it. also you can clean laser
glass, what is under the drum unit. if both look fine you can also look at the fusing rollers.

Drum cartridge
just open cover turn the toner rack if needed and replace the toner.
in right there is a black button, what is pushed down with the cover, you can push it down with pen or something, then the rack rotates easy. be sure to turn off the printer first
Blue toner seems to be leaking, lines across page
is the toner refilled ? if yes you have to buy a new one, you cant refill one toner more then 2-3 times because the cleaning system stops working in some point.
if these streaks are visible in pc drum your drum is damaged and you need to replaced.
the toner not istalled is caused by toner leak, toner contact pins are tirty, you need to clean them. if you remove drum and toners you cans see a 3 reading pins under toner rack.
Toner Not Installed
its a typical problem for these printer.
turn off printer
remove pc drum and toners
under the toner rack you'll see a 3 reading pins, clean it, best way to clean it is using pressure air bottle.
reinstall everything.

try printer driver settings, there should be a quality menu,

Hi Condeleeza,
Normally smoke would be caused by label residue being left on the fuser rollers, I am assuming your use of the word label is correct and not a transparency (which is a common jamming source in laser printers) especially when someone mistakenly puts a inkjet transparency through a laser printer or mistakenly puts a clear plastic divider sheet through.
If you are sure all of the original label has come out and there is was no residue left directly on the fuser rollers, and the fact you now have smoke and an error code (which I do not have access to find service codes for Minolta), I suspect the fuser assembly is overheating now which is causing the error message (after probably 10 seconds after switch on from cold). This could mean the temperature sensor monitoring the fuser temp is either not touching the fuser due to label fragment lifting sensor off fuser roller surface or sensor is bent or damaged due to label revolving aorund or subsequent removal efforts.
Take a closer look and see if you can find a stray fragment stuck to a thermocouple sensor wiping against the fuser roller. Failing this then you probably need to send into service and ask for a quote to repair. Be aware that the fuser may have become scratched or otherwise damaged depending upon your label removal techniques....over zealous use of letter openers, nail files and small screwdrivers have destroyed many a good fuser assembly.
Good luck

Ink
There is a problem with your fuser assembly. It is not heating up enough to burn the ink onto the paper. This is usually replaced by a tech.
