Hitachi 55HDT79 plasma television cycles on and
i have a hitachi 55hdt79 that i purchased brand new some years ago and after only 1 year of use my girlfriend with her infinite wisdom threw something at me and as I dodged it the item hit and cracked the screen on the TV! I took it off the wall and boxed it up and has been sitting in my basement ever since. It still powers up and you can hear sound from it but for obvious reasons there is now image. If someone wants to make me an offer for it so they can use the parts to fix their own tv please let me know. email
[email protected] it is located in Brooklyn NY 11223. you pay for shipping or I prefer you come pick it up. no reasonable offer refused.

he Control PWB only causes this defect when the Backlight Control Signals are Output from the Control PWB No LVDS(Low Voltage Differential Signaling) signal may also result in this symptom
LVDS is a differential signaling system, which means that it transmits two different voltages which are compared at the receiver. LVDS uses this difference in voltage between the two wires to encode the information. The transmitter injects a small current, typically 3.5 mA, into one wire or the other, depending on the logic level to be sent. The current passes through a resistor of about 100 to 120 ω (matched to the characteristic impedance of the cable) at the receiving end, then returns in the opposite direction along the other wire. From Ohm's law, the voltage difference across the resistor is therefore about 350 mV. The receiver senses the polarity of this voltage to determine the logic level. This type of signalling is called a current loop.
Its completely signal faults in your circuit board. So only its difficult to understand without yechnical knowledge.
You need to check the PWB or LVDS system.
55HT79 HITACHI BLUE POWER LIGHT BLINKS ON AND OFF.
I can't help you because after 26 months of ownership mine is doing the same thing (started on 7-12-09). Judging by the number of people with the same complaint I believe Hitachi knows that they have bad boards but refuses to replace them for customers unless they are within warranty. It also explains why the merchant that sold it to me in 2007 stopped offering Hitachi in 2008.
I'm disgusted because I'm anticipating a $300-$500 repair bill simply because Hitachi's design did not provide an external way of resetting it. Impossible to get to the menu to do a reset within 12 seconds before it starts the powering on booting cycle again.
Adding salt to the injury, mine is wall mounted and repair people will only work on it if it is readily accessilble when they walk in the door or if it is brought to the shop. Know what a 55" plasma TV weighs? Too much.
