All of my pictures are coming out blurry

Blurriness usually has to do with the lens, not always, but more than likely.
Make sure no dirt or other kinds of stuff may be on the surface of the lens. It is rare happening that the ccd can become dirty from either dust or other debris or other kinds of things such as moisture.
Any digital camera is subject to damage from dirt, moisture, smoke may cause problems, and any kind of impact can damage the track of the lens, or the lens as well. A slight drop can cause problems or future problems. Some may be able to be fixed, others cannot.
Blurriness may be caused by internal circuit problems, because the focus is controlled by a processor. If this is the case, the camera needs repair at a repairman or someone who knows the camera, such as the Casio repair department, and can adjust it's electronics on a computer with special software specifically for that use.

When battery is placed in charger, red light

You can jump start the battery by taking a piece of speaker wire2.gif (any wire) and contacting it to a 9-volt battery for 30-60 seconds. Make sure to contact the positive to positive and negative to negative, or you may short the battery. After jump starting it the battery should charge as normal.

Battery light blinking red when plugged into

I have had the same issue 3 times now. If you call Casio they will replace the battery twice. The third time they will have you send the camera in to check for manufacturing issues. They claim they have fixed the problem, but everytime I get a new battery it happens again. The best solution is to return the camera (if you can) and buy a different brand or throw it away.

How do I download photos from camera to computer?

Hi,

To connect your camera to the PC, you'll have to connect it through the USB/AV cable which is supplied along with the camera.

To connect the camera for the fisrt time, follow these steps:
1) Making sure that the battery is fully charged, turn on the camera and press MENU button
2) Then use the setup menu as shown in the attached image:

3) Turn off the camera and connect the USB cable as shown in the attached image below:

e638b4d.png

4) Turn on the camera.
Pressing the on-off button puts your camera to USB mode (green light is seen on the camera) and the computer recognizes the memory card in the camera as removable disk. Open My Computer to see the Removable Disk icon.

Double clicking on this will open a DCIM folder which contains all the images.

Important: Disconnecting Procedure- Press the on/off button on the camera, make sure the operation light on the camera is not lit green and then diconnect the camera from PC.

Hope this solves your problem. For more help and clarifications, please reply to this post. Thanks

Lens error

if ur very sure that the battery is fully charged... first we would advice you to change the batteries and see ...... if that doesnt work... the battery contacts may be corroded or bent and hence not making correct contact with the battery
.... sometimes there cud be dust or sand particles in the lens retraction passage... blow out air in those places..... this cud help a great deal.... I was able to fix a similar problem by wiggling the outermost part of the lens.as its trying to go in....
also try Place the camera flat on its back on a table, pointed at the ceiling. Press and hold the shutter button down, and at the same time press the power-on button. The idea is that the camera will try to autofocus while the lens is extending, hopefully seating the lens barrel guide pins in their slots.
if that doest help
Remove the batteries, then remove the memory card. Then install the new batteries, when you turn it on it should come back to life. turn it off, slip in the memory card and turn it on one last time.
if that doesnt help

Insert the cameras Audio/Video (AV) cable, and turn the camera on. Inserting this cable ensures that the camera's LCD screen remains off during the start process. Thus extra battery power is available to the camera's lens motor during startup. This extra power can be useful in overcoming grit or sand particals that may be jamming the lens. If the AV cable doesn't fix the lens error by itself, consider keeping this cable installed while trying the above fixes and 7 as a means to provide extra help to these fixes. But note that I DON'T recommend keeping the cable installed during Fix 6 as you may damage the AV port while tapping the camera. Reinsert the cable only AFTER tapping the camera.

Now we're entering into the realm of potentially damaging your camera in conducting the fix. There is definitely some risk here, so take care when conducting the following two fixes.
Fix #6: Repeatedly tap the padded/rubber usb cover on a hard surface with the intent of dislodging any particles that may be jamming the lens. Other variations include hitting a side of the camera against the palm of your hand. A lot of people have reported success with this method. HOWEVER, there is also some potential for damaging or dislodging internal components with this method, such as unseating ribbon cables, or cracking LCD screens.

Fix #7: Try forcing the lens. More people have reported success with this method than with any of the other methods. HOWEVER, there's obviously some potential for damaging your camera by using this method. Variations include gently pulling, rotating, and/or twisting the lens barrel while hitting the power button. Attempt to gently straighten or align the barrel if it's crooked or twisted. Another variation includes looking for uneven gaps around the lens barrel, and then pushing on the side of the lens barrel that has the largest gap (note pushing the lens barrel all the way in is NOT recommended as it may become stuck there). While doing any of the above, listen for a click that indicates that the lens barrel guide pins may have reseated in their guide slots. If you hear this click, immediately stop and try the camera.

The movement of the lens is motor driven. When you turn the camera on, the lens moves. The error 12, error 14, and error 22 refer to control stages in the lens movement ( I think error 22 means the lens won't retract). The lens housing and gear mechanism in this camera is plastic. If there is dust, sand, or debris around the lens housing, it may bind the lens when it trys to extend or retract. By banging it, you might work the gears loose or dislodge whatever is binding the lens (same with the "canned air" blowing out the dust). We've purchased a bunch of these cameras for our electricians in the field. Several have come back with this problem. I've taken the case off, and torn the lens assembly apart, only to find the plastic gears have been "buggered up". It's an inexpensive camera. Try to clean around the lens, give it a few slaps, push/pull the lens.... but failing this fix, buy a new one. Good Luck!

When trying to charge my battery... the light

Battery problem. Well known problem with the NP-20 battery. It can be repaired by connecting it to ~4-4.5V 1-1.5A for about 5-10 seconds and then charged normally with the charger.
Of course a new battery will be better.

Charged the battery and camera will not turn on

Hi!
The battery turned itself off. You can fix it if you give it a bigger impulse, something like 4-5V and about >700mA for a couple of seconds. If you can't do it, you have to buy a new battery.

The lens does not return to original closed

This is a firmware problem that has been happening with everyone I have encountered with a digital camera. There is a bad file that needs to be upgraded. This is causing the the zoom to stick or not full extract. The company will repair it for $50. If there is anything possible that you could do yourself to fix this, it would to lightly shaken the lens when going in or out, Make sure there is do dirt particles on the outside of the zoom. That's all you can personally do.
