I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.
Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV
up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors.
Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although
were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of
preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected
due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.
If the door will not open, take a small paper clip and unwind it so you have a straight part about 1-2" long. Look at the DVD door and see if there is a small hole. If you see one, put the paperclip in there and press a bit to see if it will open the door a littlw. If it does, you may need to use a non-metallic popcycle stick or similar to get the dvd into a position where the door will open all the way so you can extract it.
Hi, It sounds tv does not have back light to show picture in lcd and possible cause is back light inverter board. Please check bright white light coming from any vent holes at rear of tv? Does tv show any screen display or any kind of light in screen? Is it Toshiba 32HLV66 lcd tv or any other model. Let me know to diagnose problem.
Try the main board with the cpu chip. The cpu chip should have a heatsink attached to it, may be an overheating problem. It has the LCD panel connector plugged into it. You may be able to find the board on ebay for less than a repair shop.
This is a known issue with this TV. The following might resolve it:
Check Mute and Volume:

HDMI Cable: Check the HDMI cable for damage or loose connections.
Virgin Signal: Contact Virgin to inspect the signal/lines and replace the box if necessary.
Mainboard Replacement (if needed):
If the sound distortion persists, it could be due to a faulty sound processor chip on the TV's mainboard. In this case, consider replacing the mainboard.

There may be loose contact or track open in main board.So try to check the main board thoroughly where you may find the loose of connection or track open.
Locate the Battery Cover: Look for the battery cover on the back of the remote control. It is usually a small compartment that can be easily opened.

Test the Remote: Point the remote at the device it controls (such as a Toshiba TV) and test whether it responds to your commands. If the remote is working correctly, you have successfully replaced the batteries.
Dispose of Old Batteries: If the old batteries are no longer usable, make sure to dispose of them properly. Many communities have designated recycling locations for batteries.

They are purely a numerical identifier of when it was made, year, day, number on the shift, whether it Joe or Billy who did final inspection.
With a MODEL number I can find them easily with just 'make model manual'.

No you can't the Insignia remote is for that model television only. Companies don't make their remotes so they operate other makes of televisions. Buy a Copy Remote for the Toshiba
