Assumed you get that message when the casmera is connected to the computer.
You can check if the memory card is ok, by putting it in the card reader of the pc.

Otherwise, check if you get the same message when connected to another PC.

This sounds like a problem wth the ccd (picture detection apparatus), but I saw on some web blogs that this banding can occur in low light situations, especially with a function called alo, which should be turned off to minimize this effect. I didn't see a report of this on the Fuji cameras, but it was discussed on a Canon web blog. One fellow sent his camera into the service center, and they replaced the ccd, and he still had the same problem. There was no reported "fix" for it, and one fellow said he believes it's a common problem. Another person said it occurs with his ISO set at 100, and it seems to be a inherent problem with the camera, with no apparant solution. Replacing the ccd will be expensive, and from what I've read, you might not be any better off. Some cities have digital photo clubs, and they might be able to verify this anomaly, and let you know if there's a known fix or not.
You can take the camera into a local shop to have it assessed, or contact Fuji for information about this problem, but make sure they're certain they know a fix, or you might end up spending a lot of money and not be any better off.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Hi dear chrisofoto, You can change the ISO sensitivity setting by pressing the ISO button and rotating the command dial, also the white balance by pressing the WB button and rotating the command dial to get the desired value.
Best regards

Get a card reader. use it to download to a folder on your desktop. From there, you can import the pics into Elements.

check the menus make sure he monitor or review setting is turned on. If the camera will show menu setting but no the play back then that should be it. If the LCD is down comletely then the camera must be sent off for repair.

It looks like the camera isn't seeing the card properly for what ever reason.

As it's brand new, go back to the shop for a replacement. Bear in mind i't may just be a card problem and that's what they'll try first.

Before you leave, ensure they demonstrate it working to your satisfaction.

Hello Brian,

Are you writing to the camera memory because your card is full?

I'm not sure what USB auto/fixed is meant to do but try this.

Connect you camera to the pc as normal and switch the camer on.

The camera may ask you if you want USB or pictbridge, choose USB.

XP Then tries to offer you the best way to get at the photos. Rather than use the transfer option us the open as a folder option.

If XP doesn't offer anything click and open my computer, look for your camera it will appear as a new hard drive.

Click on the new hard drive, normally with olympus you get a folder, the first is you camera memory, click on that you should see photo's and another folder.

Copy or cut and past the photo's to a new folder on your PC. The click on the last folder, should be you memory card, move those photo's as before.

Having copied all photos you can delete them from you camera memory and card using the PC. Just as you'd delete any file.

With luck you should be back in action, a whole card to fill................. Good Luck.

On the side of the menu button of my 5200 model there is an icon that looks like a lightening bolt, when you click on that it should give you options in the screen for the flash. Not sure if that will help your camera.

You do that in the Shooting Menu.
Press Menu/OK, select Shooting Menu, select Color Space, change color space from sRGB to Adobe RGB, press OK
