My camer won't turn on

My cybershot DSC-S500 will not turn on.  When I push the power button, the screen lights up and says, "Cybershot" and then turns back off.  It is less than a year old.  Any suggestions?  Thanks

Does the lense extend when you power it on in "snapshot"mode?
Could be the switch is sticking. These cameras use concave cup button that mash on gold foil on the circuit board. Could be a bad switch. $$$$$ costly.

blurry pictures

I have had this camera for almost a year and the pictures it takes are blurry. It started that they were just blurry if i took pictures at night, like out in a bar and now every picture i take is blurry. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Check to see what the setting is for Image Size (I have sony cybershot DSC-w50). On the camera itself, it is the button on the bottom. My camera was on the 8"x10" size and I was getting blurry shots (especially with people in them). I switched it to the 4x6 print size and it seems to be much clearer.

File Error

My Sony Cyber-Shot is showing "File Error" on my camera and I can't seem to upload the 4-5 pictures that are on my camera. The rest seem to all read "File Error" on a blue screen. When the pictures were first taken, we had no problem looking through them on the camera and then all of a sudden ths "File Error" showed up and when we went to upload the pictures, nothing loads. Is there anyway I can get those pictures?

You're making it harder than it has to be. Simply hold the camera in your left hand, and open the battery door so it is standing up. Look closely at the lower left corner of the batterry door. Notice the notch shape. The door plastic door is locked in place by the mating little "L" shape on the hinged door of your camera. Thats all that keeps it from sliding off when you put in batteries. Simply insert a small screwdriver or knife blade in that slot, twist it counterclockwise to push the battery door lock to the left, and slide the door off with no force at all. It's a snap.

SONY Cyber-shot 3.2 mega pixels

My friend gave me their Sony Cyber-shot 3.2 mega pixel camera because he just got a new one. I am able to take pictures but after I've loaded them to my computer and I click on the image to view I get an error message saying that windows cannot find E:blahblah and then I get an error "error Image Expert 2000" What is going on? Is there anything I can download to fix this?

Try to right click on the image files while they are read on the memory card or on the camera hard-wired to your computer. Click on copy then click on your desktop of your computer to paste them. They may just be creating short-cuts rather than placing the file onto your computer.

How to reset picture counter numbering on Sony DSC...

How to reset picture counter numbering on Sony dsc H50... Thank You...

If it works anything like a DSC-W230 then copy all files from your camera usb stick to backup medium. then delete all files but one from the memory stick, using a usb card reader capable computer rename the one remaining file from [example] DSC00001.JPG to DSC01241.JPG, any subsequent pictures should increment properly. if you want to just reset to factory state and start from 001 again just hard reset the camera as per the owners manual instructions. Don't bother with Sony tech support on this issue, the either don't know how to do this, or are not allowed to tell you this, they told me I could not reset the numbering after my daughter did a hard reset, but I figured out it was possible to get it back to where I was at
