Canon VIXIA HFM50 will not connect to mac
There is no problem with downloading videos from Canon Vixia HFM50 to your Mac IF YOU RECORD in MP4 format. To do that, go to Home and change Recording Standard from AVCHD (which seems to be the default) to MP4. Your movies can be emailed, shared on facebook or shared on youtube. You do have to download the software - ImageBrowser EX and Camera Window - that are on the CD included with the camera or you can search for them and download them.
My computer does not detect my canon dvd d22
You have to have it plugged in and turn the power on the camera. Then you may need to put it into preview mode. Like you are looking at all your pictures. Then it should go to the computer.. If that doesn't work. make sure that your computer (Windows) is fully updated. It that still doesn't work, try getting a new cord...

You cannot import videos directly. You have to use imovie to capture them from the camcorder and save them once the capturing is complete. Also make sure that you are using the correct firewire cable 4-9pin works for most modern camcorders.
