Puting videos on

The Mix Max isn't an MP4 player. It's an MP3/WMA audio player and WMV (Windows Media Video) player. Even if you do put MP4's on the same way you put your music on it won't even know it's there. The videos have to be in WMV format to begin with and then they have to be properly encoded for play on it.

Check out #7 at http://digiblue.com/customer-service/faqs/disney/mixmax/index.html
It has a PDF download with instructions on how to properly encode videos so that they will play on the Mix Max.

How to put pictures on the disney mix.max

You should be able to drag everything over to the player.

Connect the mix max to the computer. Open the "pictures/photos" section if there is one. If there isn't, just do the next step.

Problem

You should be able to drag everything.

Plug in your player. Open the music files. Highlight/click on them and then drage the items to the desktop of your computer. It may take a few minutes depending on how many songs you have.

Put your memory card in the computer. Highlight/click on the music on your computer and then drap that to the memory card. It may take a few minutes depending on how much info you have.

Mix max is not turning on properly

There is a reset button on the bottom of the unit. Use a pin to push it and the system should re-set. This will not erase everything on it, just reset the error.

I lost my disney mix max charger

There are several types of chargers you can use with the mix max....car charger, wall charger, USB to computer (FYI turn your computer off while charging and it stops), and my favorite - the speaker station. Just do a search for disney mix max charger on the internet, amazon, or ebay and several options will come up. I like the speaker station because it is easy to charge with it and lets my daughter use it as a stereo and dance unit if she wants.

The Screen is not maximized on my Disney Mix Max

I solved this problem by using WME (Windows Media Encoder) per Digital Blue's website to re-encode the video, however, instead of choosing 220x176, I chose pocket pc widescreen in the new session wizard. This is found on the encoding options page in the video drop down box. This changed the video size to 320x240. Suprisingly, this worked.

Disney mix max screen frozen on song

The memory may have become corrupt. It happens some times with devices that have internal memory if you don't use the safely remove hardware thing in Windows. Try formatting the memory. You'll have to add your songs back to the player afterwards but it will probably clear up the issue. Here's a link to the instructions on how to do that.
It has to make a library file of the contents on the player. It uses that file to display the titles and artists when scrolling through the menus and what not. You'll have to format your player in order to clear it up. This will erase everything and then you can put your songs and stuff back on it. Just make sure that when you do you leave at least 4 megs of space for it to make that library file. Here's a link to the manufacturers instructions on how to format the player.

They also have instructions on how to safely remove hardware in their FAQ's on the site.

What does it mean when the screen is stuck on it's "OK TO REMOVE"

This means that the player is not downloading anything or running any programs, and if you disconnected it at that time, the items on your player would be unaffected. Once you have downloaded songs, pictures, or movies, you need to wait for this screen before you disconnect your player.

Oops, correction ... I reset it again and tried it and it came right on. It looks great, it sounds great. If you look on the bottom of the player you'll see a tiny pin-hole. Just stick a needle or pin in it, reset it and try again. Good luck.

Error free 4mb of space

The memory may be corrupt and it can't read the music files correctly. Open your My Computer icon and plug the player into your computer. You should see a new removable disk called Mix Max appear. Right click on the disk and choose Format from the pop up menu. At the Format window make sure that the File System is set to FAT32 and click Start. At the next window click OK to proceed. You'll then need to add the songs back to your player but it should correct the problem. When adding the songs to the player again make sure that you leave at least 4 megabytes of space available so it can create the library file.
