Epson printer xp 305 printer error E-01

This Epson Printer error E-01 occurs in the Epson Service Manual which indicates a type of fatal error. It simply signifies that the printer is incapable to finish the self-test process. When users are trying to power ON the printer it begins to check for all systems. If it is found that it is unable to finish the self test process then, the printer will come up with an error message as mentioned above. Follow these steps to resolve Error E-01. Steps to Resolve Error E-01: Step 1: Turn on/off the printer power button
  • Turn the power off. Wait for a while then turn on it again.
Step 2: Managing the lock of the printer
  • Store transportation lock carefully.
Step 3: Managing the CD tray
  • Press the CD Tray button to retract the tray to its original storage position. Be careful never to push or pull the CD tray into the wrong position. Turn off the Epson Printer and make sure that there is no paper left which may lead to paper jam issue inside the unit.
Step 4: Checking the printer cartridge
  • If the printer is installed with the CISS then, make sure that its carriage is easily movable towards left and right side.
  • The printer's upper scanner part should be closed tightly.
Step 5: Perform a check-up process.
  • Install original Epson ink cartridges and then run the printer.
Step 6: Access the cartridge
  • Access the cartridge loading area while the printer is in off-mode and then, move the carriage right away from the stop. Carefully disassemble the printer and then, clean all its optical sensors, paper feed sensors, encoder strip as well as disc encoder.
Contact Epson Printer Support Number if you have any issues in printer.

How do I print in only black ink?

In Windows there are many different printer drivers out there but the basics for epson printers are when you click on print select your printer then click properties. most epson drivers will not allow you to print on glossy paper in black ink only so the paper options type will need to be matte then you should be able to select black ink only from the print options.

I can not get the

I am assuming you are trying to print from a computer, not a photo memory card (SD Card).

Try the following things:

- get the manual and install CD if you have it
- use the manual or the menu on the printer to print a test page (if that works then it is probably not the printer)
- make sure the USB-B cable is connected
- Start the Print Manager software on your computer (install it from the CD if it is not installed already, download the drivers from on-line if you do not have the CD)
- Use the Print Manager to print a test page (If this works, then we know the cable works)
- in Control Panel under Printers select the Epson Stylus as the DEFAULT PRINTER
- from the application (MS Word, Photoshop, etc.) try printing and verify that the Epson is the selected printer

If this does not work please provide further details about what hardware and applications you are using and what you are trying to print.

Good luck. Bry

Ink cartridges cannot be recognized

The printer must detect unique 'chips' on the ink cartridges before it will print. Non-Epson ink cartridges may not have the right chips. Or there may be a bad electrical connection between the carriage assembly and the chips when cartridges are in place. Anything preventing the chips from being electrically connected, (including dirty contacts), can cause the error.
In my case the chips were not staying in place on the ink cartridges. Since I am using a CIS (Continuous Ink System), the chips had been replaced, but were not staying in alignment with the contacts on the carriage. I used a very small amount of hot melt glue to secure the loose end of each chip to each cartridge. I have not received the error message again.

WHILE THE PRINTER IS WARMING UP THE INK CARTRIDGE

Hi!
On the scanner area look for a switch on the side or front that indicates lock position. You may need to lift the scanner up if you don't have the switch near the scanner bed. Make sure that switch is set top unlock. This is a feature for this type of printer to protect scanner part when transporting device.
Hope this helps.

Clean the print head 3 times and print the nozzle check. Try to remove the inks from the printer and put them back in. If that does not do any improvement at all, the print head nozzles are clogged. You may want to take your printer to a service center.
