Hi! i have a canon

Have you tried putting your card in a card reader on a machine running Windows or any linux distro? Just to make sure that none systems see the pictures. If that is the case, you should find someone who does data recovery, all is maybe not lost. I'm sorry for not being able to help more :-/

How do i transfer pictures from my canon digital

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use Canon ZoomBrowser or any other photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto on Mac or Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ) on Windows.

The lens does not retract

Are you removed the battery, reinstalled it again? Wont work? Lesn mechanism stuck or internal failed. Alot users with this problem report to Canon Service (click HERE).

Also could check this generic fixed procedure: Lens_Error_Support

In addition, I attached one answer and comment:

On the service sheet it said this:
Examination/Request Details:
LENS ERROR MESSAGE. LENS IS EXTENDED. CHECK ALL FUNCTIONS, REPAIR TO GOOD WORKING ORDER.

Service Details:
We have examined the product according to your request, and, it was found that the optical assembly was inoperative there was no display on the LCD. The optical assembly was replaced. Other inspection and cleaning and parts replacements wer carried out.

And the best news was the cost: $0.00. Everything is back to normal and in good working order. So, if you have the same problem that I did, I recommend going to the link I had in my first post and going through the repair process. Overall, it took 10 days to get it fixed and back in my hands.

While it was really annoying that this problem happened, I have to say that Canon was satisfactory in repairing the problem, getting the camera back to me in a decent amount of time and NOT charging me. They were also good at emailing me when they received my camera and when they had shipped it back to me (complete with 2-day delivery thru FedEx and a tracking number).

So if this happens to you, I wish you the same luck that I had!
END.

Hope helps.

Dropped my d90. Everything works

I assume you mean a Nikon D90, not a Canon?

It seems like you've broken the mount on the back of the lens. It should have three flanges. Compare it to the back of another lens. If the mount is broken, you'll need to have it replaced.

If you think you can do the replacement yourself, you may be able to order the part from
http://uscamera.com/nikonlens.htm
I can't give you a specific answer since you didn't specify the lens in question.

Otherwise take the lens to a good camera shop and have a trained professional do the replacement.

I have a Canon SD750

Unfortunately with water damage the camera may work for a few days or even weeks after you first dry it out, but then it will stop working completely. If you have corrosion from water exposure then the camera is gone, it's not worth trying to fix. Even if you replace the main PCB it probably has damage to the lens, LCD screen and flash as well.

I need to replace the

Not sure what model # the battery is, but if you're opening the camera to replace it then just pull the old battery off the main PCB.

If you can't find a replacement somewhere feel free to let me know, I can check and see if we can get them new. I'm sure I will have old ones off of boards that will not power that you could have at no charge.

Hi my Canon Powershot SD

First try pressing the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. If that doesn't help, astuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Black screen

First try pressing the DISP or DISPLAY button. If that didn't work, have you tried downloading the photos, and are they also black? If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help. Finally if the photos are fine, and it's just that the screen is black, then it's likely just a loose ribbon cable connector to the screen. In that case, you would need to opne up the camera to reseat the cable.

My camera got wet when we were at the beach. is

the battery is rarely the primary problem when water is involved. unfortunately, when the water contacts the electronics and theyre on it fries everything and is generally irreparable. for future reference if you remove the battery when you get something wet, and let it dry overnight it is far more likely to work.
You can also stick it in a bag of rice to absorb the moisture.
unfortunately your camera is probably not going to make it if its not already turning on. :(

Video too fast during playback on my Camera

I have a Powershot SD1000 and it should be similar.
When the video plays very fast it was probably filmed in Timelapse mode( which fast- forwards the video) When you are in video mode press the SET Button and set the camera to Standard mode
