I lost my installer cd

bri082090,

This is a fairly simple procedure. You can go to the Canon wesite located here http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp180#DriversAndSoftware and select your operating system and then download and install the software on your computer. It may require a restart of the computer. I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r6370947-install_printer_without_install_cd which will walk you through the process.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating and testimonial.

How do i align head

Hi Good day!! To Align read this

1. Raise the input tray, which you may fold over the top for compact storage. Lower the output tray at the bottom.

2. Slide the "paper-width guide" on the input tray to the left. This is the small, adjustable tab situated where you will place the stack of paper.

3. Load a small stack of paper into the input tray. Make sure short side is forward and the print side is up. For some paper, it makes no difference which side is up. Slide the stack down until it stops.

4. Slide the paper-width guide to the right, snug up against the stack of paper to ensure proper alignment.

Method 2:

1. click start
2. click printer and faxes
3. right click your installed printer and then properties
4. click printing preferences
5. click maintenance tab
there you should see alignment option click it

Hi I get the message

Sometimes, we manually need to clean the waste ink absorber, means you need to remove them and wash them... Follow the steps :
1. Open the top of the Printer and look inside.
2. Locate the waste ink absorber pads. These are at the bottom right inside your printer.
3. Put on the gloves. Now remove the waste ink absorber pads and holder from the printer by gently lifting them out. It feels like they snap out, so do not be afraid to tug gently to remove them.
4. Clean the waste ink absorber by soaking up the ink with a tissue or wipe. Set the waste ink absorber on some newspaper to avoid ink spills.
5. Go back to the Canon printer, and view the other waste ink absorber. This is also on the right-hand bottom in the back of the printer. This one has screws to remove and comes out with a plastic piece.
6. Wash the sponge with clear water. Allow it to dry completely. This may take at least a day. When it is completely dry, reassemble.
7. Replace the waste ink absorber pads and sponge. Connect the printer to the power source.

Good luck.

If you need further help, let me know.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I have Error 5100 in

Error 5100 is a carriage error. There is a plastic strip that goes through the carriage, if that strip is dirty, damaged, or has come loose, that will cause the problem.

Power off, check the strip, use a barely damp qtip to very gently clean it, and try power on again.

If you still have the error, it is probably mechanical, and could be any number of things, none of which are easy (or clean) to fix.
