As [I assume] all that has happened is the printer has been packed and moved, possibly a slight knock has caused a contact dislodge.
So remove the printer head and reinstall it.
Then remove the printer software from the computer and reinstall it.
See what happens.

Unfortunately most printers are cartridge specific. Many of these cartridges are nearly identical, but one small protrusion will prevent one from working in a different but nearly identical printer. Sorry man, I think they do it like that just to make it a royal pain!

Go into the properties for the printer (right click on the printer icon in the printers/faxes folder or the control panel and select properties). From there you can tell it to print in color, black and white, or gray scale. (You may have to go into the printing preferences option, I can't remember exactly where but somewhere in the properties is that option).

What operating system?

Try this Click on start click on run type services.msc a box will open up with listings Check each of the following to see if they are running LexBce Server- should be set to Automactic Print Spooler- Should be set to Automactic Remote Procedure Call(RPC)- Set to Automactic If any of these items are different- change them by double clicking on the line. A box will open up make changes then click apply. Shut down and restart your computer. Hope this helps you

The setting should go something like this- Colour reflective Black and white reflective Colour Negative. Colour Transparency. Black and white negative. Some scanners automatically sense and switch to what is loaded - others need setting up. my suggestion : take your printer to an authorized service center, probably the printer has a defective electronic board, there is nothing you can do to fix it
